Lovely staff too.
Best of all dog friendly, and one of the lovely waitresses made our 3 so happy today with loads of treats.

Lovely place, food was lovely, nice and hot and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and an excellent choice of real ale to choose from, would definitely recommend. 😀
Went back to the White Cross for the first time in about 15 years, based solely on the trip advisor great reviews. Wow. It's a totally different experience. When we entered, the bar staff got our drinks and asked if we were eating. He then told us to make ourselves comfortable and got us when our table was ready.
Every member of staff was amazing. They were attentive but not in our faces. The food, The Food is Perfection. I have never eaten better. Everything we had was superb. You will not regret your visit, I promise
Just enjoyed the best Sunday lunch at the White Cross pub in Lancaster. The food, staff and atmosphere was incredible!! The staff were exceptional with our young children!�Looking forward to our next visit! X
Wow what can I say. Superb service, friendly staff and knowledgeable, large range of beers, food fab, had scallops for starter and lamb for main and both were lush. My husband and parents enjoyed their meals too. Will definitely recommend the White Cross to everyone either for drinks or food in the friendly atmosphere created by all �

Oh my goodness! I've just visited for the first time and I will definitely return asap! Absolutely incredible food. Very tasty lamb dinner and the baked camembert starter was divine. The staff are shining stars- my favourite thing about the visit! Service is very attentive and you can tell the staff are happy and love their job. Thank you!

Lovely pub with great food, nice inside seating and outside on the canal. Nice pool table too. Good range of drinks but not many ciders on tap. Bit more expensive than town but fair enough for the lovely location.
We went for the roast dinner on Sunday and it was great! Really tasty, good value and big! The staff were really friendly And helpful. We had a great meal there and will go again.

Had a fantastic family meal here before dropping our daughter off at Uni. Will definitely be back......great food and vibe and really friendly staff. Maybe living down South we're used to grumpy staff?!
There was 8 of us looking for somewhere to meet up and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. I think the lady who served us was the manager and she was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive without being over bearing. The food was excellent we had main courses and deserts. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend and will definitely visit again the next time we’re in Lancaster.
It is alright! Sitting outside in windy cold weather!!! Nothing really special... I also checked the menus , very average! 4 stars to show my generosity 🤠
Great pub (well, to be more correct, bar and restaurant) on Lancaster Canal. Friendly and efficient service, good food and portion size. I recommend the ham hock with duck egg and hand cut chips! Delicious. As a Londoner, friendly northern hospitality and courteous service is always very welcome. Good selection of ales if that is your fancy.
My friends and I had a really great time there. The food was really tasty and well presented, and the staff were lovely. It's so cozy, and a really excellent place to spend a good time with loved ones.
I'm planning to take my partner there for a romantic evening next time 🥰
We ordered a variety of dishes and everything, I mean everything, was amazingly tasty.
The beer was excellent and we met some great folks at the pool table.
It seemed like a quiet night but that was great for us so the only down mark on the atmosphere was that there weren't more people enjoying it too.
If it's anything to go by, my partner reckons (she has been paying attention to this), that the cheesy chips would be the 4th best in Cumbria. It's not in Cumbria but she is willing to extend the boundary.
One of my favourite pubs to visit in Lancaster. Large canal-side terrace in the summer is a must!
Very nice food - Sunday roast. Waiters kind, helpful, but might be more attentive. It is a classical restaurant/ pub where you want to come again. Recommended!
Great location. Good food. Good service. Maybe needs a broader menu. But the squid was divine.
We had a lovely day at The White Cross. Three of us had fish and chips. The batter was delicious and crispy and the fish was perfect and fresh. I had the Thai Penang prawn curry which was also divine. The service was efficient and very friendly and sitting by the canal was restful and relaxing. A perfect spot.
Went for my birthday, and I will definitely be returning. The food was outstanding and very tasty. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We are regular visitors, primarily to attend the Quiz Night. However, you couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to work there. Harley, Judd and Rob are great, and obviously quizmaster extraordinaire Tim. Pop in, you won't be disappointed.
Friendly helpful staff that provide an excellent service, even when the place is pack.
They do an amazing selection of food including cheese boards, which can be had indoors, or in one of two outdoor seating areas. One is next to canel(great for the sun) and one is out front (usually well shaded).
They also have a well maintained pool table, however if possible I would take your own cues.
They also have a fruit/slot machine.
What an absolute gem of a place!
