We had a lovely time and enjoyed most aspects of our visit, the main reason I gave four stars was because the amount of vegetables on some of our plates, for example I never had any broccoli on my plate and others had the same thing. I would of liked a bit more on my plate as well. But saying this the food was delicious and the service was very good as well .
Visited several times due to location however also had a very good meal. The pub is located next to Lacock Abbey and has a very good under cover seating area. As we had bicycles this was great as we could leave the cycles next to the table. The pub is not big inside but with the outside area there is plenty of seating.
There is a car park next door but this is owned by the National Trust so would check if there are any charges.
The food was very good and reasonably priced. However drinks varied in price but as with many places in tourist areas costed between £14 to £19.
Didn't stay overnight but google wants some stars. I popped in for an early dinner one Tuesday evening and had the Henry burger and the apple crumble with warm custard. The burger was nice and the chips were great, nice to get a hot meal. The apple crumble was FANTASTIC!! Very very yummy. The ladies behind the bar and the young lady who bought the meals out were all very nice. Love the interior and I'll definitely be back in the future.
Brilliant service, as a coeliac they were one of the most competent restaurants I have ever eaten at. We had two dinners and a breakfast and the staff where knowledgeable, the menu well adapted and the kitchen operate a separate fryer etc for GF food. Even those eating non gluten free enjoyed their food and were impressed. Prices very reasonable for this excellent level of service. We didn't stay at the pub so haven't rated the rooms.
Hi
Just wanted to say thank you so much again for the effort you went to for our reservation this afternoon. Our daughter had the most wonderful 10th birthday - thank you! The Harry Potter themed decorated tables you provided for us were amazing.
Thank you so much for all the effort the staff went to.
Kind regards
Emma Pick
Friendly, comfortable bedroom(although paintwork overdue for cleaning and repainting),good pub food and varied breakfast options.
Although a very busy pub, bedroom was very quiet.
Would stay again.
The Red Lion is welcoming and cosy with a lovely open fire. The staff member who served us was friendly and attentive, and the food really was excellent. Thank you for a lovely evening. 😊
The food here is very good as is the beer!! I had the burger and the two others with .me had the Portuguese pork and steak fries. Everyone enjoyed. The ale from.wadworthd was also very good.a great pub in a beautiful village.
We popped in here for a coffee after a disappointing experience at another establishment in the village. We were greeted with a lovely smile, put in our order and promptly had it delivered. The vegan brownie, which I have to say didn't look particularly promising, was absolutely delicious!!
Stopped in here for lunch while on a tour. The service is fast as you choose a table and order all food and drinks at the bar. Nice to eat quickly and be able to explore the town. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It came quickly.
