Had a great birthday lunch here yesterday. Great selection of beer, delicious menu, attentive staff. We did not wait long for our food to arrive, and it was piping hot when it arrived. Lovely location, will definitely visit again.

My sister and I visited last weekend for her birthday and I treated her to Sunday lunch. We both had the beef and I must say that it was the best Sunday roast either of us have ever had. Every mouthful was delicious! The pub is warm, welcoming and dog friendly. We will definitely be back!

First visit & will definitely be back. A gorgeous pub with a really genuine, warm, authentic feel (including a proper roaring fire ). The food stole the show though. Our group had a burger, Thai beef curry and steak & ale pie. They were all fantastic, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. There are signs telling you to order at the bar, but we didn’t get chance, as the superb front of house team beat us to it. I’ve had worse service in much more expensive places! Can’t wait to come back.

Love this place. Food great and staff are fab. Had a long wait for food last night which was slightly annoying. But will always return.

Fantastic overnight stay at this busy pub! Lovely clean room with generous bathroom. Very tasty Sunday roast with the biggest yorkie puds I've seen! Breakfast was lovely too, all staff were helpful and polite! Thank you for a great time.

Very busy when we arrived mid afternoon on the Sunday, however, made very welcome and quickly guided to a table. The Sunday roast and cheerful staff made for a great afternoon.

Lovely anniversary lunch there yesterday. Staff friendly, food delicious, great background music (Jake Bugg) and a nice walk in the nearby countryside afterwards to work off some of the calories!

My husband and I are regulars of many years standing and LOVE The Dog! Why go anywhere else when there's always a glass of chilled Champagne waiting for you? The ambience in both the bar and restaurant areas is lovely and, whilst it can get extremely busy at times, that is just indicative of the popularity of this gorgeous place! The staff are welcoming and friendly, not pushy per se but always there if you need them; a special mention for the Bar Manager Charlie who always has a smile for his customers, a knowledge of his bar inventory and just enough conversation to make you feel "known". Thank you to all! We love The Dog!

4 of us had Sunday lunch 2had roast Beef and the other 2 Turkey, very good, the only down side is there was no cranberry sauce, when I asked for some there reply was sorry we have none also said no mint sauce either. Surely it no problem to send out a member of staff to the Local shop to get some

We were a family of 10 celebrating my son's birthday. We all ordered the roast dinner which could be pork turkey or beef. Unfortunately when the meals arrived there were errors. Either the wrong meat, carrots missing or even roast potatoes missing. This was quickly rectified and without even asking we were given a free round of drinks and the bill was reduced by 10%. As far as the quality was concerned, the roasts were excellent, good value and the drinks were priced competitively too with excellent choices. It's a lovely pub with spacious seating inside and out. Why have I given it five stars? Because when errors are made but are rectified quickly with an apology and doesn't impact on the occasion then why not? We enjoyed ourselves. We will be back.

I have been going to The Dog regularly since 2018! I LOVE this pub! I’ve been with some many different friends and family, but more often than not, it is me and my Mum who frequent! I tend to always get the Sunday dinner burrito .. My Mun gets the traditional roast beef dinner! Tonight we both got ‘soup of the day’ which was a lovely creamy potato soup! Was absolutely delicious! Lots of wine to accompany the meal of course! Can’t comment on the rooms, as never stayed! But this by far my favourite country pub and Sunday dinner around! :)

Have been to the dog on a number of occasions, only delivering. Been meaning to try this place out. So booked I for a Sunday lunch. Probably the best Sunday lunch lve had in a long time. Only one thing that let it down was the plate requires heating, to keep the food warm. Will be back. Thank you .

Last moment decision to go to The Dog for lunch on bank holiday Monday. We hadn’t booked & they were extremely busy. Thank you Becky for juggling things around to find us a table. When seated given how busy they were drinks came swiftly. We ordered the chicken burger (can highly recommend) and a cheese sandwich also lovely. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service! Would highly recommend.

I stayed here overnight for an early morning business meeting. The room was excellent with quality furnishings. The food choice, service and overall ambiance was first class. Stayed here previously and I would highly recommend to all types of travelers whether it be solo, family, couples or business.
