My wife and I visited this little gem of a place today for lunch and were not disappointed. The service we received from the waiter was perfect, the food arrived piping hot and was delicious, this was washed down with 2 ice cold pints of Staropramen.
We have been staying in a little village called Heyope (about a 10 minute drive away) the last 4 days and go home tomorrow, our only regret is that we never found this place on our first day so we could have worked our way through the menu day by day.
My partner and I had the Fillet Steak and Wild Mushrooms last night from the Valentine's menu and it was absolutely faultless. Cooked medium/rare and it melted in the mouth, it was so tender. Compliments to Ivan the Chef who was on duty! The Strawberry Cheesecake was very nice too! We highly recommend the food at the Horse & Jockey. 5*****
First time we have eaten at the restaurant & we were allowed to feel very welcomed by the owner and staff, service was exemplary.
Ordered off the Christmas menu (with recommendations from Stephanie) - we were not disappointed - food was simply quite delicious.
We will definitely return.
Great food, atmosphere and service.
Very nice Inn, the snug is really snug, the restaurant served me a delicious chicken faillita and a salted caramel topped cheesecake to die for! The guestroom is a boutique-chique style room with a spacy en-suite batroom.
We will be back!
Stayed in the room called Cooch, clean tidy and lovely, food was amazing and nothing was any trouble, staff where friendly and welcoming. Will definitely recommend and stay again
Great food and cosy restaurant
Well worth the drive
Endroit super top, très charmant, propre, accueillant, très bon petit dés' ... Je recommande cet endroit
Fantastic, we absoloutly love this place and when on holiday down there always go there for something eat and drink would not go anywhere else
I had an absolutely wonderful time here with my wife. Food was excellent. I'm definatly going again. Top notch
I hadn't been since I was a little girl but the atmosphere and staff were as friendly as I remember, and the food was amazing!
We weren't sure what to expect when walking into the pub as it didn't look as we expected, and then at the bar we were told the restaurant was closed due to a flood and we had to sit in the bar. But the food was amazing!! It was great value for money, nicely presented and tasted really good. I can highly recommend going for a meal here.
The Horlicks creme brulee was a real treat! And we would return for that alone.
I had a gluten free burger. It was served with far too many little potatoes. Whereas I am grateful that you do gluten free, the burger should be served with a gf bap not slices of bread. Everyone was happy in the group, thanks very much.
We stayed here on our Offa's Dyke walk (Kington to Knighton stage). We were in the upstairs family suite with two rooms and a bathroom shared by the two rooms. It was great for our family of 4. Food at pub was excellent as well.
We had a meal in the bar part and the food was amazing. I had the fish and chips, my husband had the steak and daughter had the cauliflower cheese. Very friendly place
Sunday roast absolutely lovely, plenty of it. Service friendly and efficient. Could not fault it and very reasonably priced
What a great place. We stayed in The Tollant room which was quite expensive but very nice and worth it. The food was affordable with good taste and very nice presentation (above it price class). The staff was great too. Highly recommended.
Our group of 8 had a wonderful meal here. The service was excellent and the food was top notch....so much so that we chose to come back two nights later.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Our dog was made very welcome by both the staff and the other patrons. The meals are delicious and plentiful.
We popped in for a pint with the kids around noon and were made extremely welcome. We booked a table for tea later on and were not disappointed! Great food, all made from scratch and reasonably priced. The comfort of "pub grub" at higher end quality. You will love it here!
Took my girlfriend here on our short tour is Wales. The shine in her eyes as she bit into the pork tenderloin, it made me so happy. When we wondered in the door we were greeted by an wonderful young girl, never had that sort of service, felt really friendly in a place we have never been before. The pizza was great! The choice of drinks was amazing, if you are in the area it is worth the drive, the aesthetic is perfect, what lovely little establishment! Again, the staff were extremely kind.
18 Months later we find ourselves in Knighton again, sat at the same table, same wonderful service and beautiful food at a decent price.
