Really good food at the Kestrel on Wednesday evening. Three friends and I had the Festive menu. Good choice of two or three courses. I have coeliac disease and have to avoid gluten, which can be a real problem when eating out. Jack, our server, was knowledgable and helpful about which dishes were gluten free. My gluten eating friends enjoyed their meals too. A great night out with fab food and lovely friends.
Great staff fantastic food will come back for 3rd stay. Can't recommend this place enough they go the extra mile and more.
Visited lots of times and always gorgeous food and lovely staff we’ve spent a couple of Christmas days here and always had the best time and today we enjoyed breakfast with Santa it was a massive hit with the kids they loved it would definitely recommend �
Smashing find - booked via late rooms - didn't expect anything but the place was great - lovely pub garden, with beautiful views. Restaurant food and service was exceptional and the room was spacious comfy and quirky down to the squeaky floorboards - would recommend it and already thinking about going back to explore the area a bit more
Myself and two boys (aged 13&9) had the most amazing two night stay here. The accommodation and food was fantastic. The staff were always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Can’t recommend enough. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Stayed for one night while working in knaresborough room was excellent staff very friendy would happily use the place again countryside setting of the hotel was an added bonus
Fantastic service, very welcoming staff who couldn’t do enough for us! Rooms were spotless a very comfortable. Food was excellent both tea and breakfast. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back!

Food was fantastic. We got the sharer combo and the spicy diablo pizza. Only negative i would say is that the pizza was pepperoni. It didnt have spicy beef and was not hot. Still very tasty though
Have been many times with different friends over recent years. Called in last night on my way home to York to find the place has had a bit of a makeover. I like Vintage Inns and in my opinion this is the best one I’ve come across so far. Looks even better now of course. Expect to see me again soon. Keep up the good work. Thank you Team Kestrel.
Stayed here 1 night for a wedding party at Goldsborough Hall, the room was very comfortable & we really enjoyed our stay. Can not really comment on the food as we didn't eat during our stay, but we will be back to sample it as it looked really nice from our little nosey at other people's. Great bar service and a good selection of drinks.

We ordered 2 rib eye steak and 1 pan fired lamb.
We also had 3 deserts.
The waitress Emma, was welcoming, plight and full of smiles.

Superb food, friendly staff and amazing location. The rooms were lovely and cosy too. We stayed for two nights for our 18th wedding anniversary. Breakfast was superb! My only little niggle was that maybe an extra couple of staff would be perfect as they were constantly on the go!
Just returned after spending the night at this amazing place. From the moment you enter you are made to feel so welcome. Mathew was a star and Julie worth her weight in gold. The attention to detail of the furnishings is fab. Our room was very clean and comfortable, lots of tea and coffee. The meal last night was excellent as was the breakfast, can't recommend this place enough, hoping to return in June
We went to celebrate my Dads birthday and were served by a lovely friendly waitress called Julie. The food was delicious and came quickly. My Dad declared it the nicest pint of beer and nicest burger he had had in years. Nice relaxed atmosphere- not too loud so could chat easily Tables well spaced so not cramped. Would really recommend- we will be back
Had a great meal with 7 of us at table on a very busy Easter Sunday. Food was delicious and all meals came to the table piping hot. We had 2 vegetarians with one gluten free and requirements were catered for without issue. Would highly recommend and will be back.

Absolutely amazing place! We booked well in advance for Christmas Dinner, adding to our notes that if possible to have a table that was a little more private as our son is Autistic and struggles when surrounded by people.
When we arrived, it was obviously extremely busy being Christmas day. They were also running behind, so people were all stood around the bar waiting. We asked if there was anywhere we could wait, with our son obviously having issues. Very quickly we were shown to a meeting room where we could wait on our own until our table was ready.
We were in there for about 45 minutes, which was unfortunate but we understood Christmas day was extremely busy for them. My wife went to ask a couple of times if they knew how much longer we would be waiting, to be honest this was more so us being paranoid we would be forgotten with it being so busy. As it was obvious a table still may not be ready anytime soon, they made up a new table for us that was nice and private.
The food was absolutely amazing, it was definitely worth the wait. The service was also exceptional and I lost count of the amount of apologies we received due to the wait.
Given everything that was going on, the service we received and quality of the food, we will 100000% be returning.

This time was a friends get together and we had a voucher for discount on Mains which expired that day.
We decided on Mains with possible desserts.
Chicken breast with triple cooked chips, Shepherd's pie with peas and Steak pie with triple cooked chips with a Drink from the bar.
Very nice.
We went for desserts.
Ice cream (honeycomb, double chocolate and a coconut sorbet). Sticky toffee pudding with custard.
The service was prompt and helpful.
The cost was okay made better with the discount.
We'll be back.
Fantastic country pub, really festive this time of year especially with the gorgeous open fire, breakfast was fantastic , service was welcoming and friendly. Loved it.
