Cannot fault this place. Friendly, bubbly staff. Perfect for a place to go with mummies and other babies for a cuppa and a nibble during the day. The food is fantastic, never had a bad meal to this day! The refurb looks beautiful.
Felt lost for 3 weeks whilst the refurb was going on! Have eaten there 4 times since it opened and it's only been open a week, definately would recommend to everyone. Great staff and great food
Absolutely love the new refurbished so it looks fantastic! Still the same friendly efficient faces and the food is affordable yet delicious.
Family friendly and a great place to come with friends.
Just had a fantastic meal with a friend and was not disappointed
Keep up the good work guys xx

Really good food with great vegetarian options. Lots of gluten free choices including puddings too. Nice atmosphere, helpful staff, a lovely place to eat.
We ate at the SO bar on Saturday late afternoon and I am the fussiest person ever for eating out, we live about 30 miles away and we were on our way home, so we liked the look of the place so we thought why not eat here , and we loved it, it was tasty, came piping hot too which is a big thing for me, food should come to you hot, I will definitely come again, the place had a great vibe too, it was packed and now I know why, thanks SO Bar x
We had a meal here yesterday it was one of the best meals I have ever had and will definitely be going back. Super staff
Good food, good atmosphere and good value for money. Can be slightly slow bringing food out depending on what day and time you go but well worth the wait. Drinks a little pricier then other pubs in town but compared with restaurant prices there ok. Overall love it, one of the best eating places in knaresborough. P.S harrogate so bar on Otley Road is good too, well worth a visit.
Really lovely meal and fantastic service staff very friendly and everything from the meal to the hot chocolate at the end was perfect couldnt fault anything i will defo be returning it was all very yummy and cooked to perfection.
Great food enjoyed by 3 generations for a family celebration Booked table on line can't fault it
Lovely food, great atmosphere and games to keep the kids entertained! Looks much better for the refurbishment 👍
The 5 a day burger @ £8.25 proved popular with N: a falafel burger with houmous, mixed salad and spinach tossed in pesto and dukkah, while K had a yankee burger @ £10.95 (beef burger with smoky bacon, cheese, pulled pork, tomato, onion, leaves, dill pickle and BBQ sauce served with fries and coleslaw) and a side of enormous onion rings @ £2.95.
Came here with a group of work colleagues on a Tuesday evening.
Although I live locally I haven't been in for a few years, but have always enjoyed their food.
I got the lost boy burger which was 'stuffed with garlic and cheese'
Although the burger was not overcooked and was still juicy in the middle, I think the 'stuffing' had come out of the sides as there was a lot of cheese on the side of the burger, and not much of a garlic taste.
Was still a really good burger though, and served in a really nice pretzel bun.
I asked to upgrade to the handmade fries but when the burger was served it only had the standard fries. Before I could even say anything, the waitress apologised for the mix-up and said she'd bring out some handmade fries
(Impressive server!)
I got the benefit of trying both types of fries, and although the handmade fries were really lovely, their standard fries were also very good and much better than fries at other restaurants.
Service was great throughout the whole meal and all my colleagues also enjoyed their food. Would definitely come back in future.
Amazing gluten free menu! Safe for coeliacs. Was able to get fried chicken! Can never seem to get that when eating out, so was very excited and it didn't disappoint! Will be going back there in the future!
Always a great experience when visiting, food was spot on, staff are friendly and a good selection of draft beers. What more could you want, it has become one of our regulars when we visit.
Simply wonderful. Was so hard finding a place that served food before 5pm, so this place was a great find.
They had an entire menu for gluten free. I was in awe. I've never seen such an array of foods just for gluten free. I had a gluten naked burger and it was delicious, but I could've had gluten free buns with it, but it was nice with the lettuce. The gluten free onion rings were absolutely amazing.
My family had regular and enjoyed every bite.
There seemed to be a lot of space inside and its so close to parking areas and busses, and the service was fast, polite, and so well informed.
We didn't try pudding because we were too full but we'll be definitely going back
We stopped for a quick bite. Great menu and great place. Good atmosphere, perfect to relax and chill back after visiting the area. The Philly steak baguette was really good. The beef yorkshire wrap wasn't up to my liking but my partner enjoyed it. The sauce with it, it's amazing. The do 0%cocktails and tasted great too. The meal took bit too long for my liking but despite that, all good. Parking available near the castle. £1 for up to 2 hours. Amazing 👌
Honestly, the food was absolutely exceptional, the best meal we have had for a while. Really tasty and well seasoned. My partner can’t eat gluten and this is the best place we have ever been to cater for gluten free, he could have pretty much the whole menu and it was an extensive menu! Service was great too, really friendly.
We went for the 2 for 1 offer at lunchtime. It was quite busy. We got seated quickly. The menu was varied. Our service was satisfactory; swift but not the friendliest.
The pub-grub, however, was top-notch and definitely value for money. We will go again.
Me and my partner visited Knaresborough for the 1st time on Sunday (25/06). We needed to find somewhere to eat and with my partner having a milk and gluten intolerance it's quite hard to find a place to eat. We googled and we came across this place! It was only a 10 minute walk from the waterside so off we went. He asked for a gluten free menu and was so surprised at how big the menu was! Nearly everything on the normal menu was gluten free! It was so nice that we could actually share starters! He got the Yorkshire wrap and said the beef was mouthwatering! Haha I got the cajun chicken melt! The Korean chicken balls were beaut too! We are so sad that we live an hour and a half away! But tbh if we lived closer we would be fat and skint haha keep doing what you are doing guys! Amazing food, service and pub! We will be back soon!
Been here twice on visits to Knaresborough. The burgers are amazing. The garlic burger especially was simply messy but worth every penny. Might be best to book a seat if going in the evening but these guys may produce my favourite burger of all time. I generally like to try different places when I'm away but I'd make an exception here as the food was fantastic.
Went to So last night, not out first time but was dying to go back! And it didn't disappoint. Although I don't eat beef, mainly chicken I had to try the garlic burger (sorry don't know the name) was delicious with cajun corn as was the cheese fondue 😋😋😋. Service was really good and I am looking forward to visiting again as I love Knaresborough 😁😁
If you are celiac and need safe gluten free food this is the place to go 😄💓
Found this place fantastic food great staff.gluten free menu.clean and will definitely be back. These were the started.dont offend give 5 stars but this place and staff deserve it

We had a delicious gluten free and vegan tapas selection shared between three. It was really nice to have a large selection of food to choose from which was safe for everybody to eat. The vegan wings were particularly impressive. Food took a little while but it was clear that everything was freshly prepared. Staff were very accommodating. A headtorch may he required for accessing the toilets!
If you every get the chance, even if it is limited edition, try the 3 little pigs burger
Nonetheless a lovely gem within Knaresborough and glad we found it during our day trip.
The staff were very welcoming and we will be sure to come time and time again
Good service, Went for lunch with Daughter & Granddaughter..Vast menu ordered Roast beef Dunking Yorkshire Pudding wraps, absolutely delicious, & a fancy burger well presented... sorry didn't take photos
