Stumbled upon this tearoom when visiting for the day and what a delightful little place tucked away in the courtyard. Very quirky with the kitchen upstairs but such a warm welcome and very vintage with the theme running throughout from the decor to the crockery. I had a warming hot chocolate with a little extra in a small jug to top up! Nice touch! My hubby had a cup of tea which only appeared small in the vintage teapot but he was pleased to get 3 cups out of it! What more could you ask for. We sat outside in the courtyard which was pleasant and my daughter made best use of playing with the dolls house. Defo worth a visit.

What an amazing little gem in the heart of Knaresborough! We stopped here for cappuccino, one of the best we have had in a long while! I had a scone with jam & clotted cream;delicious. Hubby had a yummy toasted tea cake. We loved the attentive staff, quirky ambience; vintage bits and bobs & the music! We chilled & played scrabble! A perfect end to a wonderful afternoon x
What a little gem in Knaresborough. I have multiple allergies but I found so much of the menu accommodated my needs, the soya milk, swedish glace and dark chocolate shakes was lovely, as was the soup. Staff were lovely and the ambience was very relaxed with lovely music as i took myself back to my childhood by using the tiddlewinks and dominos provided by the tea rooms.
Perfect little tea room. The food was amazing & great value. Great service. Friendly staff. We could take Willow in (our puppy) & she even got a slice of cheese . We will definitely be visiting again. Would recommend this tea room to any one visiting Knaresborough . You've done amazing to say you've only been open 4 months! Good luck & see you soon ☕️
Gorgeous little tea room! Caters for vegan and GF. Very welcoming and great for families as there are toys for them to play with, including a rocking horse 🐴 ☕🎂 😊
I have no idea why we haven’t been here before! Gorgeous little place, well worth a visit. And the Lemon and Blueberry cake was unbelievable
Oh my days! Just had soup and a sandwich and now I have cake and this place is GORGEOUS!!! If I’d known this tearoom (complete with the wonderful Sarah who owns it) was just down the road from my house I would have visited Knaresborough months ago. Cannot recommend this place enough for such a friendly, happy food stop with a friend. Or multiple friends. Or just a book. A MUST VISIT PLACE!
Lovely cafe run by Liverpool friendly lady. Delicious scones and had fun playing giant jenga.

Stumbled across today, lovely sandwiches & tea. Very good service. Highly recommended the Yorkshire ploughmans sandwich, this I will be copying!
Took my 5 year old daughter for lunch and she loved it. Really lovely place and friendly staff too. Will definitely go back again.
Sarah did a vintage tea party for my daughter birthday! Absolutely amazing..above and beyond what I expected. Highly recommend this place thank you so much xxx
Lovely atmosphere, very welcoming. Opened the door and helped us in with my grandson's pram. Gorgeous vintage mismatched tea services accompanied the excellent cakes. Definitely be visiting again as they are also dog friendly!

A lovely tea room with the added bonus of dairy free milk and other goodies, lovely friendly staff who advised on where I can buy a variety of dairy free cheeses other than the one I've been stuck with for the last 6 months
Scarlett's hosted my daughter's baptism party this afternoon and we had an amazing time. The tea and cakes were delicious and Sarah couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommend for a special occasion tea party. Thank you Sarah!
Perfection, thank you Ladies foe such an amazing breakfast and the care and time in fact everything about this hidden little gem is perfect .
What a lovely quaint little place. Had a fab afternoon tea. The girls couldn't have done more and it was all delish. Will defo go again
A lovely tea room catering for vegetarians and vegans.
I had the humus spinach and pine nut sandwich which was delicious and a generous portion for a very reasonable price.
The menu has a very good selection of dishes including a good selection of vegan options, some dishes include vegan meat and/or cheese, many don't, so they cater for a wide range of tastes. Something for everyone.
They also have a good selection of cakes, but they're upstairs in the kitchen, so make sure you take a look, I missed out. I'll know next time, and there will be a next time!
I was passing through on my bike and decided to stop off for a bite and a cup of tea. I was so glad I did. The tea was great (in a fancy pot) and the poached eggs with spinach were perfection. Also the staff were so welcoming. Icing on the cake was a lovely quiet courtyard to sit in and a blackbird that serenaded me through my lunch. Can't fault the place.
Absolutely beautiful place to relax with some light food.
It's like sitting in your grandmother's lounge, very cozy and snug.
Highly recommend
A lovely little tea room hidden away in central knasaborough, been visiting knasaborough for years and never knew it existed but will definitely go back. The tea and coffee were top quality as were the cakes definitely worth a visit 👍
Also the 2 young ladies that were running it on our visit were extremely professional and courteous
Beautiful little cafe, full of memorabilia and curios. We loved reading the newspaper clippings and adverts on the tables and walls and looking at the quirky old toys and gadgets (like a Teasmade and original Paddington Bear). The cakes were fantastic - I had a truly zesty lemon cake (not too sweet, perfection 👌) and my boyfriend the fruit scone which looked great and he said was delicious. Will definitely be back.

I ordered the high tea and was not disappointed. The sandwiches were lovely! The scone incredible. I admit I had to bring the cakes home with me so can’t speak to those but heard others nearby saying how nice they were. The ploughman’s had diced apple on it which is a stroke of genius. So glad I stopped in! They take card and cash.
Amazing little find: vegan & gluten free options, everything is vegetarian. Very quick service, very helpful staff and dog friendly inside and out. Will definitely be visiting every time I return to Knaresborough. Gets busy very quickly though, so would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
Vegan review: Love this place so much, can’t recommend it enough! Had a great experience from start to finish, the staff were lovely and service was great. The decor was intriguing, so much to see and the vintage theme carried really well throughout the whole place stretching as far as the staff uniforms! I ordered a smoked tofu salad which was lovely, a chai tea and a lemon blueberry cake. I was so impressed that there were about 7 vegan desserts to choose from! I took a chocolate flapjack home. All the food was delicious! There were games on each table including playing cards, dominoes, yes/no and lexicon. There were also travel guides including the local and surrounding area. It all came to a very reasonable £27ish. Take note, they don’t accept card but there’s a cash machine nearby.
Found this lovely tea shop by accident looking for somewhere to get something to eat. What a lovely little place, the staff are really friendly and the food is delicious. It's really great value. We'll definitely be back 😊
Fabulous 1940s style tea room, situated in a quiet and lovely courtyard, you can transport yourself back to wartime Britain, with 1940s music gently playing in the background and the staff wearing authentic 1940s clothing. The soup, tea and cakes were excellent, if you want to feel a bit nostalgic about the 1940s a visit here is a must, a real gem of a place.
Had the pleasure to visit this unique and wonderful tea room. The cakes we sampled were delicious and the hot chocolate was really tasty. Great range of vegan treats and options. The owner was a welcoming intelligent soul who added to our visit. Knaresborough is a very charming part of the world. Well worth a visit here even if it's a little put of your way.
Fantastic food and service. The poached eggs cooked to perfection, also the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. 100% recommend.
We went in for a quick bite for Brunch -- Absolutely loved the theming throughout the tea rooms, excellent service from the woman who served us - welcoming experience and would love to go again
Awesome homemade scone and ladyboss was nice to accede to my request of having it lightly toasted! A great find amidst this small little town and serves as a timely rest stop after visiting the castle which is just a stone throw away.
Very pleasant food and drink.
Was a little disappointed that the cake selection was not sponge cakes, I do like a victoria sponge or chocolate sponge.
I opted for fruit scone with jam and cream which was very nice.
Tea in a pot so plenty the eclectic crockery was nice too.
Location little mixed but not unpleasant.
Nice outdoor seating option too.
Looked like rain so did not linger.
One if the best high tea's I have ever had. Highly recommended food was exceptional staff very kind
Great find! All done out 40's style with"ration book" menus and appropriately class staff. Just a really pleasant coffee shop. Only had coffee and done, but the food looked good.
A hidden gem, set in one of Knaresboroughs cobbled streets, Scarlett's has a great selection of food and an awesome selection if drinks for dairy and GF guests. Service is incredibly friendly and patient for those that just cant decide, we brought our newborn along and were made to feel incredibly welcome. Highly recommended!
