On our way back from Thirsk A1 we googled to find the nearest place for food and found this place in the middle of nowhere! Gorgeous location..We were really impressed ..Very friendly staff food was Amazing! Cooked to perfection!! I've saved this place as my favorite and would definitely drive back 3 hours to eat there again!.. Highly recommend! :)
We visited the Tiger Inn following a recommendation by my mate Mule to sample the beer pulled through the Autovac. Great creamy beer, living in the south it was the first decent pint I have had in a long time.
An added bonus was the food ! Great service, absolutely fantastic food , one of the best meals we have had ! Great food takes a while to cook, so be prepared and enjoy the beer and the company.
Just to say a huge thank you to everyone that gave us a fantastic new year day meal! We booked a table for 2pm for 7 people and a high chair. Could not fault the service and the food was delicious!! Absolutely loved visiting you for the first time. The Yorkshire puddings were yummy too! Our child meal of chicken dippers and clearly homemade chips were loved by our 2 year old. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who made our day so special. Cannot wait to return! Thanks again, Happy New Year!! All the best for 2018!!
Haven't been for ages... went midweek, nice and busy so had some buzz about the place but not over stretched... really very good food, great cooking, a stunning steak pie, amazing jug of gravy & perfectly cooked seasonal vegetables, a simple dish done amazingly.
Visited last night. Lovely food. Can recommend the steak pie. Large and packed with tender steak. Had the cheesecake for dessert which was delicious. All food well presented and good service. Glad we booked. It was so busy which is always a good sign.
Amazing food and service! The staff are so friendly and attentive. Fab specials that are always different every time we go in. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Found the most lovely pub in the middle of nowhere on the way back from Old Mother Shiptons Cave to Hull. The staff were so friendly, it was very busy but managed to squeeze us with no problems. We had had a lovely day and The Tiger Inn ended our day with a high. The food was amazing, I would recommend and visit again! Thank you for been so accommodating and making us feel so welcome xxx
I went yesterday and the food was amazing. The staff were polite and I would highly recommend. Great food and great service. I will definitely be returning
Went for pub lunch this week and it was great. Staff really good and food was really good too. Was a perfect trip out for lunch. Have booked for Sunday and would highly recommend the Tiger.
What a stunning gem of a pub. We found this pub just by following a brown road sign. What a pub the food is out of this world we will definitely be maki g a return visit even though we live over an hour away.
Saw the sign on our way home from Brimham rocks & I'm so glad we did. The food was such good value & fabulous quality. The pate is the best I've ever had. We will definitely make a trip out to try more of the food on the menu (minus the dog though so we can sit inside)
Called out of the blue with my Husband and Mum for tea ,lovely welcome and Yummy food ,the only problem we encountered was a couple of troublesome flies that were flying around the table whilst we were trying to ear .I appreciate it's a country pub but they spoiled the meal a little ,but they won't stop us returning for the fab food and service .
Lovely meal tonight - 3 adults and one toddler. Had the lobster (of course, it's June!) platter. All of it was amazing but the kedgeree was a particular favourite of mine. My daughter pinched my chips so they definitely got her seal of approval!
We visited the Tiger Inn yesterday on our way to Knaresborough. Its the 3rd time we've been & the food was amazing & also very well presented. The staff were polite, friendly & helpful. Definitely worth a visit
Really good pub food, little one ate for £1 (although Dad ate most!), really good attentive service without being too much......haven’t been for a while but now can’t remember why!
Had a few hours in Knaresborough and found this little hidden gem on our way home. We ended up having 3 courses! Every mouthful was absolutely delicious, huge credit to the chef! Staff were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere. Obviously a very popular place, as many tables were either full or reserved. We’re so grateful they were able to fit us in and will definitely be recommending to friends and family. Already looking forward to our next visit! Suzy & Lee
Amazing food all came hot, tasty and good standard. Closed Tuesday’s & Wednesday’s. 20% off 2/3 courses of Monday’s, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays 12-4:45pm. 2 courses for 2 people and 2 pints of lemonades £41. We ordered Creamy Garlic Chestnut Mushrooms & Cheese Gratin, Chargrilled Butterflied Chicken Breast, Inside Out" Chicken, Ham & Mushroom Pie, Bramley Apple & Raspberry Crumble.
Will definitely be coming back.
Service, staff, food and price was excellent. Everything arrived piping hot and tasted amazing.
Well what a recommendation by my mum. I normally take them with more than a pinch of salt. However on this occasion I was more than happy to have tried the tiger inn. The food was simply superb. I haven’t had calves liver cooked so well in years. Left me wanting more. Every course was delicious.
The staff were also attentive in an unobtrusive way, making our lunch a great experience.
For the quality of the food £14.99 for two courses was an absolute pleasure to pay.
Thanks mum and to the tiger inn we will see you again very soon.
Keep doing what you are doing!
WOW.. This pub had a little bit of a heavenly Chef. My food was fantastic from starter to pud. My main was the 5 Star attraction with beautifully cooked duck with Kirsch Cherries, Chantaney Carrots, braised red wine Cabbage with roasted duck fat potatoes and a tasty Jus. Starter was tasty with a big portion and sticky toffee pud delivered me a well deserved sugar rush for my drive home. Loved it. Free parking just off the M1 in a quiet spot. Thanks
It was so good to return to one of our very favourite pubs yesterday, 1st time since lockdown .. it's even better than it ever was, it's in a gorgeous setting in North Yorkshire with fabulous staff, GREAT atmosphere and menu & a well stocked bar. The seafood pancake & belly pork were perfectly cooked, & presented & the desserts 😋. A lovely day was had by all..
Wow,, great quality food , more than just pub grub , definitely worth a trip . lovely friendly staff too ..😋
Met with a friend for lunch and was not disappointed, great food reasonably priced in a dining room which was very clean and well set out.
Staff friendly and helpful, nice menu choices and selection of drinks.
Really enjoy it here, one of our favourite 'treats'.
A bit more pricey than some pub grub, but I genuinely believe it's well worth it. Would strongly recommend the fish pancakes if you ever try it.... you can thank me later!!
Good range of beers and ciders too, if you don't want to eat.
Only downside is some of the questionable parking, making access a little tricky, plus the gravel is a nightmare on my knees, but that's another story.
Definitely go, lots.
Visited here today and was extremely impressed with the quality and affordability of the food. The menu contained some beautiful traditional English pub food choices with beautiful presentation too. The service was brilliant as all and the waitresses were extremely chatty and genuine even though the restaurant was full. We didn’t feel rushed at all, and the timings of the starters, mains and desserts were perfect. Just enough time in between meals to relax and chat. We finished with some coffee which were all too made beautifully. We are too a family in the industry so are experience with great food and service and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great. The only thing I would say is to perhaps reduce the lightening to add ambience but that is the only thing I could say.
To finish with, we were pleasantly surprised with the bill, as we would have expected to pay more. With that being said, we had no cash on us so we were unable to tip. However, we will definitely be back soon, this time with some cash!
Lovely little pub. Hidden away but busy. Food was lovely.
Very poor vegetarian or vegan options. All sandwiches were meat and came with chips (lovely but over salted). I asked for a cheese and fried onion sandwich which they were more than happy to provide. However, they then charged for a cheese and ham sandwich with chips (which I didn't have).
Overall happy with friendliness of staff, atmosphere and quality of food. But felt it overpriced and lacked variety for non meat options.
The most amazing Sunday lunch. The best beef I've had in years and a very generous portion. Yorkshire puds were huge and wonderfully crisp. Lovely selection of veg served separately. . A group of 10 of us went, it was worth travelling for. Would deffinatly return.
Lovely family lunch to celebrate my Mums 70th birthday. Our table was kindly decorated and ready for our arrival. Great service, delicious food and great value too. Thank you Tiger Inn 😀
Eight of us for a meal. Good food, good service with pleasant staff. The resteraunt two thirds full which is a good sign on a Thursday lunch time. Parking down the road ok as car park full. Lovely village setting.
First visit for me, the whole ambiance was so relaxing & beautifully decorated, loved the food, great menu. Sarah served us & was a truly nice lady, not pushy, she gave my party & I , a lovely welcome
Superb pub loved by our local friends. Excellent food and bubbly, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Absolute gem.
Great place for a really nice Sunday Dinner 3rd visit and superb again plenty more visits to come
