Visited your delightful village today .... loved the upstairs tea room and the piping hot coffee served by your friendly young staff. We two Aussies thoroughly enjoyed our time in Knaresborough .... and your lovely shop and tea rooms. Highly recommend :)

You want a perfectly relaxed, historical, stylish, cultural and charming place - this is it. A lot if positives rolled into one. The food that goes with the atmosphere is also excellent. Loved it. A real gem of a place. Exceeds expectations.

We had afternoon tea for two which consisted of sandwiches, a choice of cakes and a homemade scone with jam & cream. Everything was so delicious that we split each cake down the centre so that we could taste them all. Lovely old decor, friendly staff and delicious food. Can't fault it.

I visited the Lavender Rooms with my 2 grown up children. The afternoon tea we ordered was beautiful and the lady serving us was very friendly and helpful. The homemade cakes we lush but my favourite was the cream scone. I would defiantly go back if I visit Knaresborough maybe sampling some of the home cooked food they serve.

The Lavender Tea Room is a beautiful little gem, hidden above a gift shop. As you head upstairs, there are two large rooms to sit in. The staff were absolutely lovely, especially the older gentleman with white hair, he was an absolute gem. The food itself was marvelous too, the homemade beef lasagna was well priced and filling, and the side of steamed veg was perfect. I'm a bit of a voracious eater when it comes to good food and this was one of those times, I left very content. There are tons of veggie options and if your vegan, just ask and they'll likely make a custom sandwich for you! Food for all 🎉

Stopped here for lunch on a misty day in October. Initially there were no tables available, so the lady kindly sat us down to wait & offered drinks whilst we waited. Once seated I ordered the homemade cheesy cauliflower & broccoli soup with a Wensleydale cheese sandwich with chutney & a side salad. The soup was so thick & warming & extremely tasty & you could definitely tell the coleslaw was homemade too. My husband had homemade sweet potato & pepper soup with crusty bread which he thoroughly enjoyed. It had definitely been worth the wait for the table, as all the food was delicious, the staff polite & friendly & I would most definitely go back again. We enjoyed our visit very much. Thank you

Came across this lovely little tea room by accident. What a little gem it was too. Had a lovely Coronation Chicken(generous filling) sandwich and bowl of soup. The soup was just the way your mother and granny made it… delicious. Lovely staff and great service too, a real pleasant quality lunch.

This was just a lucky find, after wandering up the hill from a morning rowing on the Nidd. the Lavender Tea Rooms are just the right combination of charming service, well made cakes and sandwiches and above all great scones. It took a few minutes to serve the Afternoon Tea for 2 because a fresh batch of scones was just finishing in the oven. It was so worth the wait.

Step in to feel a very classic tea time experience. Not to mention the excellent scones. Their cakes are homemade and has that simple traditional look and taste. A visit that will leave that oldish days impression.

Cracking little tea room, plenty of character and very quiant. Lovely food and a good menu to choose from. Seating outside on nice days and seating indoors overlooking the square. Good quality food at reasonable prices. We paid £14 for afternoon tea for two. Well worth a visit.

Quirky and lovely tea room on the second floor overlooking the market place, obviously a very old building. Real door stop Tuna mayo sandwich with lovely bread, salad, slaw and a serving of crisps. My wife had tomato and pumpkin soup which was lovely with a hint of spice, served with sun dried tomato bread, all served with proper tea for two with a large teapot and jug of hot water. First class. Table opposite had the quiche of the day which looked great. Too full for the delicious looking cakes I'm afraid, ah well ... there'll be another time!

Popped into here as a little stop off before heading to the Dales and absolutely loved my experience at the Lavender Tea Rooms which is set inside and above the oldest chemist. I had a bacon and brie melt on sun-dried tomato bread, which was toasted to perfection, the bacon thick and the brie delicious. When ordering it was lovely to have three choices of bread to be toasted, white, wholegrain and the previously mentioned sun-dried tomato. Accompanied with a pot of Yorkshire tea, which gave me enough for 3 cups! The price was perfect as well with two people, drinks and food coming to under £20, obviously your experience may vary depending on what you have! The décor of the Tea Rooms is lovely and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the staff there are chatty. If you're in the area, I urge you to go as this is not to be missed!
