An exceptional meal. We popped in last minute. Very big quality food- delicious. Although it’s not the cheapest in knaresborough, the quality and portion size represent excellent value. Great service, nice atmosphere- best meal I have eaten in Knaresborough for a long time!

Enjoyed a great lunch. Good coffee and Yorkshire Cider, plus excellent Merlot! The mussels were superb, best ever, and the Sausage and Mash with green beans and good gravy very tasty indeed. My 11 month Grandson made something of a mess from the high chair he was given, with his toasted tea cake, which he loved. Followed up with cheese and biscuits - some tasty Wensleydale and blue cheese. The staff were excellent, and very welcoming. Having a young child with us was no problem to them. They also had a sense of humour, particularly the lovely young lady serving who gave us a sample of the cider, which turned out to be lager by mistake! No worries, it was changed and we had a bit of banter about it! Very reasonable price for such a quality meal. Will hopefully return.

Six Poor Folk is a wonderful gem of an eatery located in the beautiful town of Knaresborough. On Easter Monday Karen & myself had a great meal there. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly couple who made us feel very welcome. Our starter was a delicious bowl of mussels accompanied with panchetta, onion and garlic in a rich buttery broth. Both our mains were also very tasty. Earlier Karen had briefly remarked it was her birthday and when the coffee landed on our table at the end the staff brought a piece of their 'parrot' cake (carrot & parsnip!) with a candle on top! This was a wonderful touch and really made our day! Smiles all round! We thoroughly recommend you visit Six Poor Folk!

Had a delicious lunch here, the tempura prawns, butternut squash gnocchi and sticky toffee pudding were delicious. The rest of the menu sounded lovely and the pub/restaurant is very clean with a relaxed atmosphere. It was one of the best meals I've had in Knaresborough! It has recently undergone new ownership, and a new Head Chef. The owners Roger and Erica were very friendly and welcoming, so were the other members of staff, Sarah, and the Chef Jamie. They also open for coffees, brunch and in the evening. There's a big terrace outside which will be great in the summer. Would highly recommend!

I had the delicious Rich risotto (which they made vegan) and the best soya latte I have ever tasted. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return! Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic meal last night for our party of 12. I'm vegetarian and dairy free and was really well catered for (no soggy salad in sight)! Lovely wine, good service, great venue. Thanks

Six Poor Folk is a wonderful secret in Knaresborough full of fresh delicious food and beautiful contemporary decor. Super friendly staff and love the new outside area with home grown herbs. I highly recommend avo's, eggs on soughdough toast with sweet chilli jam, followed by the new ginger crunch and a cappuccino - perfect lunch! Thank you and see you again soon! My favourite eatery in Knaresborough

Open till 11.30, so a great bar for that extra pint when you are three sheets and still could squeeze an extra one in before home time. Veltins and pravha on tap too so I was a very happy man. I went for the veltins

Cute place with decent food, definitely the best breakfast/lunch experience we had on our short trip to Knaresborough. I’m removing one star simply because vegetarian options were on a limited side and mostly carb based. I’d love to see something fresh and lighter with actual vegetables. Nevertheless everything we ordered was tasty. ♥️

Lovely tapas and drink … and even more the crew running the place: they are absolutely amazing. It’s open till pretty late (to me at least lol). Go grab a beer and have fun relaxing there. I will be in a rush to go back there from York 🥰. Worth the drive.

A nice place, friendly staff, good food and drink. The only issue is being upstairs in the gallery room can be noisy. Otherwise a nice lace to visit

Genuinely welcome discovery. Excellent beers, coff and cake. Good range too including catering for vegans. Dog friendly and very welcoming to people as well. Beers were excellent, coffee strong and well made. Went back twice and would make a point of revisiting if in the area again. Wonderful 👍

I'd prefer a better selection of tapas. More bread on the charcuterie. I can't fault the ale selection, it was excellent and the atmosphere was very friendly.
