Charming, warmly welcoming and attentive service with a huge amount of local/worldly knowledge! A real gem in Knaresborough and so handy at the station! My kids (always welcome) love to go for a wee snack and to watch the trains & read the selection of books or play with the train set! Tasty food and perfect tea/coffee in a uniquely decorated place of calm, which nods to its original use as a ticket office and the history of the railway. They also have the only WC on the station as Northern Rail are too tight to provide one - available for coffee shop customers only, or, a token gesture of pocket change straight in the Air Ambulance tin for polite rail users! Proudly community & customer focussed - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Visited this little gem of a place yesterday. What a find it was! Brilliant food, lovely people who are happy to make you feel like a reguler customer and Jack got to watch the trains go by. Will definately return here again when I'm back in Knaresborough.

My little boy had his 4th birthday party here and it was amazing! We put bunting up, played games, watched the trains come and go, ate delicious sandwiches and sang happy birthday with one of their gorgeous handmade chocolate cakes. It was just perfect. X

Always go into The Old Ticket Office before I get the train back to York. Such wonderful, friendly staff & fantastic service! Beautiful decor inside and best of all my tea comes in a teapot with a cup and saucer! ☕

Absolutely fantastic. The owner was so kind to our son who is an avid trainspotter and really couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. Nothing like this at any other train station I've ever been to, well worth a visit!!! Thank you Amy.

Great food - great hospitality - good prices - it's a bit of a Tardis - and they have started a bit of a renaissance down at Knaresborough train station - oh and "Doreen" is really shy !!!!

Been to the Old Ticket Office several times now and each time I have been welcomed with a smile and great service. Doreen and Amy are friendly, funny, have great local knowledge and even help plan weddings! To top it off hot chocolate and some scrummy cakes! I'll be back again soon ladies

Called in for elevenses on a rail strike day, very quiet day. Had a doorstep bacon sandwich and coffee which was gorgeous. Very friendly and helpful staff, gave good directions to the Castle. Rainy weather outside but sunny inside these Vintage Tea Rooms !

Finally made it to the Old Ticket Office. I can honestly say that Amy makes the most delicious cakes. I cannot tell you how absolutely delicious this Bakewell slice was. I have never tasted anything so divine. Staff so friendly atmosphere redeemingly local. Love it xxx

Amy and Doreen have created a magical community space and they make everyone feel welcome. The food is fantastic and they've joined up with some of the best local suppliers. It's not a visit home till I've popped in for a mocha and a cheese scone the size of my head.

So cute! A must visit. This is the best railway cafe in UK. Very helpful but more importantly great coffee. Only small detail is no card payments due to poor coverage in that area. So take a little cash for your flat white!

I have been here about 25 times and it has been consistently excellent. Definitely the best breakfast in knaresborough with quality produce and plenty of it, toast included! The cakes are homemade and again generous. The scones are massive for one person! Service friendly and welcoming. It is cash only due to no internet connection on the station.

Just dropped in here for a sandwich on my way to Leeds, whilst I live in Knaresborough this is only my second time ever here. It's a beautiful building and the girl I just spoke to was delightful, full of cheer. Don't hesitate to give this place a go. It really is unique.

Lovely cafe. Very quaint, not overly pricey. The coffee is really great, the breakfast sandwich excellent, and served in bread from hand cut loaf. Cakes looked fabulous. Hundred percent recommend

What a lovely place, we called in for tea and cake. Tea for two served in a China teapot and cups and saucers, and what a good cup of tea, complimented by an equally delicious scone with all the trimmings. The staff were very pleasant too. Well worth the visit.
