Great fish and chips. I thought it was quite quick to get served despite it being busy. Would definitely visit again.

Reading in advance there were some very mixed reviews, so I was interested to see for myself. It seems like food is cooked to order so it's not like a chippy where they have a load of fish and chips being kept hot, this means it takes a bit longer but it's bang fresh when you get it. Portion size was decent we had 4 fish and chips, peas, curry and a mixed pakora. 4 of us ate it the majority of it but after having missed lunch (we were there pretty much as it opened) and I'm a large, greedy man. Quality was solid. Like I said, fresh, tasty flakey fish. I've enjoyed pakora sauce more in my life but I'm really nit picking here. Service was civil and friendly enough. It's cash only so I had to pop to the cash out at tesco for money, but it's just across the road. I didnt see the problems others have reported. I very much enjoyed the visit. I'd take the negativity with a pinch of salt and make your own mind up.

Great food. Just let down by the wait. From ordering to receiving our order . Which was fish, chips and peas. And chicken and mushroom pie , chips and peas. 30mins + Cash sales only. Tesco across the road with cash machine. Would use again but would go and do some shopping instead of waiting outside. Order inside and pick up outside.

Good flavoursome Haddock in crispy batter and decent chips. Handily placed for the Silver Craigs campsite. I braved a torrential downpour for them and they were worth it.

Enjoyed fish and chips. There was a good choice of menu and food is made to order. Good atmosphere with benches to sit on to wait for food.

Busy, very busy and a fairly long wait as everything is made to order. Bottom line - the chips, haggis etc were good. The wait was long, took loads of orders and everyone crammed waiting for things to cook. Seems a bit unorganised. Many people spilling out into the street.

When all the patrons coming and going greet each other by name, you know it is going to be good! The fish and chips were superb: light, crunchy batter wrapped around a generous and meaty fillet of fish. Chips were crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Just delicious and worth waiting for.

This is a lovely chip shop, the only one left in Kirkcudbright - the food is always top quality and my kids make us drive there for a takeaway quite often because they love the pizzas! Only thing I advise it to phone ahead, as it's really busy - never been and it's been empty. Staff are lovely, put up with a lot, and always get the order right.

Tasty fish supper plus onion rings, crispy batter and well cooked chips. Holding back on 5 stars as the onion rings were served with a small puddle of grease, they could have been better drained. Overall a good fish supper 👍
