Kirkby Valley was in the finest condition, today, from when I first began playing the course in 1970's. Outstanding quality of greens, excellent fairways and tees! Also a quality understanding that not everyone who plays the course considers themself a Ryder Cup contender.

1st time on the course for me. Early tee off before comp. Great facility and good to see further improvements being made to what is already a nice course. Buggys fully charged. Staff friendly & welcoming. Full English and pint after 18. Highly recommend

It's a very long time since I played here but I was very impressed with the hard work that has gone in already to improve the course. The work is ongoing and will continue for a little time yet. This did not detract from an enjoyable round. Wide fairways, decent greens gives the higher handicappers a good chance of a good score. It has matured well and will warrant a 5* review once all the work has been completed.

Haven't played Kirkby for over ten years, really impressed by the improvements, the holes are well defined, ie trees, wild areas grown, etc. compared to when I last played, the tees have been moved on some holes and elevated, the greens were also superb, really recommend a visit and will be getting back there soon I hope.
Not any more a municipal golf course, but a lot better than it used to be. They are still working on upgrading it. Well worth playing. The greens ate a bit shabby, but it's a working progress. It's an awful lot better now greens are great and fairways are cut to the right lengths
First time I've played kirkby in 20 years and I have to say I was very impressed with the way the course has improved. Staff are very helpful, price is very good and once the tees are sorted out it's going to be a great little course. I will definitely be returning soon

Well maintained golf course. Not too tricky, which suited me! There weren't many places to lose balls but a reasonable level of difficulty.

I will start with the positives. Course has come on hugely since takeover. Big improvements on a lot of holes. Owner has done some great tee off areas. Greens run true. Shot 77 gross so happy with that. Drainage has improved. Negatives are you are overdressed if you have proper attire on. Golfers bare chested in buggies wearing Jean's, tee shirts, football shorts. Bunkers full of weeds, not raked, pitch marks are a real problem on the greens, repaired at least 30 to 40 pitch marks during my round. Signage round the course would be an idea, ie, pitch marks, divots. Potential is there definitely for this club. Will return for sure.
Much improved from a couple of months ago, the groundworks are really starting to take shape and the fairways and rough are nicely kept! The greens are great too!
