This place was quiet when we called on a Friday evening and consequently lacking in atmosphere. It was modern and clean with a reasonably cosy feel and comfortable seating. Food appeared to be a traditional menu,we didn't eat, with reasonable prices. The pub doesn't serve crisps or peanuts but there is a pie warmer on the bar which seemed a bit incongrous with the boutique bistro vibe. Definitely worth a visit,it may liven up later in the evenings and has outside seating which catch the sun and face the square. Ideal for a sunny day.
The family run Pennine Hotel is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Shelley and team were so attentive and went out of their way to be helpful. Best breakfast we’ve had in the UK. Gorgeous rooms. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Dropped in for quick snack and drink and were treated like royalty. Lovely food and brilliant service. Would recommend to anyone.
Great little hotel situated in the town square 4 guys on a motorbiking trip stayed for 1 night lovely rooms nice people super breakfast.Would highly recommend
What a lovely place, we sat and enjoyed a wonderful lunch in the pennine Hotel. They went out of their way to accommodate. Y allergy to pork, putting the pigs in blankets on a separate plate for the others. They found green teabags for us. They didn't hurry us, and it was very reasonably priced. Lovely staff excellent food. Well worth a visit. I met up with my sister about half way between us and we will be definitely be visiting again. Toilets were clean and plenty of soap, paper towels etc.
Most definitely the best hotel I've I've used on our ramblings around the country.... Couldn't have asked for better. A warm Cumbrian welcome and a Superb social evening. 5star X2.

We needed to change the baby’s nappy and they gave us a lovely room just to change the baby instead of going to the toilet.

We decided short notice to go for a meal on Friday. Beforehand,the girl who booked us really pleasant over the phone. Nice welcome; by all staff. Prompt order. We ordered Fish and chips, it was the best!fresh good fish with batter and chunky chips ! Bar manager pleasant.and fire gorgeous!
Had a family meal for 7 this evening and it was outstanding. By far the best pub food I’ve had in a very long time. Both the quality of the meals and the service were equally impressive 10/10
Called in at Kirkby Stevens while travelling across country for a break and some food. We were very lucky in that we picked The Pennine Hotel for food. It was Sunday, 3pm, we got the last table, however they had sold all their Sunday lunch's. But not to worry, the lovely lady working there suggested chicken and leak pie. It was delicious and was served with homemade chunky chips, mushy peas, and gravy. The potions were large and served hot, so large we didn't need anymore food for the rest of the day. This is a very friendly and welcoming establishment and I would recommend everyone to try their delicious food 😋
Perfect place for a light lunch on way to the Lakes. Friendly staff and superb fish dish. Dog friendly. Can eat outside if you want fresh air, but have to pay first. Tabs allowed is eating inside.
Had a fabulous lunch at this lovely place today. We had the Italian sharing board . It was loaded with meats cheeses olives and sun dried toms with lovely fresh bread on the side. Gorgeous and great value. Drinks lovely too so all in all a smashing visit. Hoping to visit again on Thursday as it is our last day of our hols!
Lively pub, typically the younger local crowd visit. Service always good, meals pub style. Can be noisy at busy times.

Rooms were very spacious and modern. The bath was amazing! The breakfast was lovely which was included in the price of the room.
We had pur 12 week old with us they provided a travel cot changing mat and a baby bouncer with no extra charge.

Stopped off on the way home today and grabbed a late lunch mid journey. Absolutely blown away by the quality and taste of the food we were served. The chef and his team should be very proud of the food they sent out today especially my mushroom tagliatelle which any Italian would have enjoyed immensely. Can't wait to return
