Aside from the bedroom door being a bit short, and the floor being a tad squeaky, this was a very nice hotel in a really old fashioned building. It is lovely. The beds were comfy and the room was spacious. The managers were fantastic too. Very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was very good, loads of choice and even more fantastic when you take into account that it's included in the price of the room. I'd happily go back.

One night stay here when passing thru. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff are amazing and so helpful and polite and nothing is to much trouble they a real credit to the owners. Young girl who checked us in was so nice and attentive and made sure everything was right. Lad behind the bar so helpful to my kids locked themselves out of room and despite a serving he's came straight up to unlock the door. Highly recommended

Popped in on the way past as the menu looked amazing and dogs are welcome. The pub wasn't open when we first arrived, tootled about and returned just after opening. Greeted by a lovely friendly barman. Ordered 2 drinks while we browsed the menu again. Popped up to the bar and ordered our food, offered a seat in the restaurant, and again our dog was welcome. Food arrived promptly, hot and really tasty.

We stopped of for lunch here and it was very good. My wife's lasagne was very tasty and cooked well. My mixed grill was great, although the steak may have been a tad undercooked for some (I ordered med-rare and it came a bit short of rare). Nonetheless I would thoroughly recommend this place.

We stopped here as it was already dark and needed somewhere to crash for the night. The room was clean and fresh and the bathroom appears to have been recently refitted with a smart modern suite and tiles. However the taps on the sink are too short and don't stick out far enough meaning it's hard to get water onto your hands. The only other annoyance was the kitchen had already closed one hour earlier than scheduled due to a lack of customers so we went to the takeaway next door.

Lovely welcoming pub with reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Great for families and couples alike. Menu sounds fab, sadly we didn't have time to try the food. Would recommend especially if you have a dog!

Called here for lunch. The staff were very accommodating, putting tables together so we could sit as a group of 7, with 2 dogs. The food was lovely, well worth the money. Fish&Chips, All Day Breakfast and Cheese Burger were our choices and they did not dissapoint.

Fab pub, really friendly bar staff. Dog friendly, we spent a lovely couple of hours in here on NYE psyching ourselves up for the 4.5 mile walk back to our holiday cottage in Grassgill. Good range of drinks and they didn't even shout when one of our dogs had an accident 🙈. Will definately return and highly recommend this lovely country pub !!!

I broke down driving a car I had just bought from the Blackpool area through Kirkby Stephen and needed a place to stay. I walked into the King's Arms and explained my situation, not only did the staff arrange for a room for the night and breakfast the following morning but they also did it cut price as I was a little short of cash due to my car purchase. On top of all this they also managed to get me a lift back to my home town the next day. Customer service of the highest order!!!. Oh, and by the way, the food is excellent and the beer is good. Lovely comfortable bed and nice big room, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Chris and Marvin are the two guys responsible for this place, do yourself a favour and pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed.
