Lovely, traditional village pub serving meals, guest beers, plus a large selection of whiskies and gins. Been a couple of times, but not eaten off the menu, albeit very tempting with good pub food aromas wafting about. There is a beer garden with play area, outside seating area, and inside rooms for formal, informal dining.
Really traditional Batemans pub and friendly, attentive service. It is dog friendly and has house dog treats for your furry friend.
Nice place and nice settings, food and drink aint cheap, and I must admit had better value elsewhere. Also, must state rude local (clicky) customers from the outbacks won't make me rush back!.
Nice service very pleasant staff perfect service just the right level of attentiveness and immaculately clean surroundings and food so good it could be served to royalty. We went this evening it was just as good as ever

5 Star Service and Food from start to finish. Exceptional quality and one of the best experiences we've ever had eating out. The owner should be so proud of a wonderful team they have.
I phoned in the afternoon after finding this on Google as our plans had changed, the lady on the phone was professional and polite, providing us with what we needed to know in terms of food service hours.
We arrived around 20:15 and driving up to the pub, on first viewing it is one of those proper country pub feelings, very traditional and English, just my cup of tea. Beautiful hanging baskets and flowers outside, a children's playing area and generously spaced car park.
Upon entering above the door, a sign displaying, Enter as Strangers, Leave as Friends.
As you enter, a traditional contemporary step back into time greets you, a lovely bar area which then leads you into a very tastefully layed out, whilst modern, in keeping dining room.
The menu offering is that of a traditional English pub with some modern twists but not over bearing with jazzed up novels you see elsewhere. A straightforward and to the point menu...Perfect! Also, a kids menu with an excellent and healthy choice of dishes to choose from. Everything is very reasonably priced and value for money. They also offer a good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
The staff were very polite, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Very professional, attentive and excellent service.
We ordered two ranch burgers, one doubled up, and a children's chicken nuggets.
The food was faultless. I've been a chef in the Catering industry for 15 years and this is way up there with some of the best food I've ever been served. It was absolutely delicious. The burgers were homemade, beautifully cooked, insane homemade onion rings, the bacon was perfect and just how I requested - crispy but not overdone.
Additionally our sons chicken nuggets was nothing less than excellent and by far the best he's been served to date. He is quite a fussy eater and for him to pretty much clear his plate speaks volumes to how much he enjoyed his.
I will be recommending this pub to many when we go home to Hull and certainly will be without question returning again.
The only shame is that they don't do food on a Sunday.
This will live long in our memories.

One of the best places we've eaten in a long time. Lovely cosy pub, very good home cooked food, caters for dogs even serve dog dinners. We'll definitely be back.
What a lovely pub. Very friendly lady who works there. Special dietary needs catering is not a problem. Gluten free. No issues. We'll worth the run out would go again definitely...
Lovely, quaint pub with great staff, excellent food and a cosy atmosphere. We spent two evenings there and met some really nice people. Can't wait to go back, the menu had something for everyone, even dogs!
Had a delicious meal. The special of Crab mornay with new potatoes and veg was delicious. For pudding I chose the brandy snap basket filled with the most delicious caramel ice cream I have ever tasted along with poached summer fruits with cinnamon. I could have sat and ate that pudding all night. We hadn’t booked but you were able to accommodate us and I was very impressed with how hard the waiting staff were working. Well done. Ps can I have the recipe for the ice cream 😊
This is a really great pub which allows dogs. Great food and friendly locals that made us feel welcome the only disappointing point was the unfriendlness of the bar maid, not one smile either night we visited. I was particularly upset by how she treated a family whos little dog was sick in the corner, as a dog owner I know how embarrassing this can be but not something you can predict. The mother of the family cleaned the area so well that after they left the waitress couldn't even tell where it happened. As a dog friendly pub I'm sure this isn't the first time this had happened and as dog owners on neighbouring tables we were able to sympathise but the bar maid was bearing on rude to them. Such a shame as this is a real gem.

When I ordered for salmon they had sold out. The lady taking the order should have given me a little more time to choose. I felt rushed as she was poised with her pen & pad.

Beautiful country pub with good parking. Outside seating for drinks and food. Made a reservation in the morning for a table for lunch and I'm glad we did, as it filled up quickly and the two waiting staff were very busy!
I had a ploughman's and my son had a mixed grill, both meals were excellent and we couldn't fault them. I'm sure we will be back soon!

We can highly recommend the homemade steak pie which has to be one of the best we have ever had.
Excellent food and very friendly. It was my mums 81st birthday and we booked a table for 10 at 13.30. had a fun time and they even took a photo for us & got rid of all the wrapping paper from prezzies. Couldn't fault it. It's our favourite place to celebrate.
We had a lovely lunch salads washed down with XB what more could I ask for. Staff were friendly and courteous. Will visit again when in the area.
Very nice pub, happy atmosphere and the man behind the bar offered to and did put our beers in an ice bucket so they would be cool for us to enjoy.
