We went to the Wheatsheaf for a late Sunday lunch. On arrival, we were shown to our table and given the menus. One was for the Sunday menu, the other a specials menu.
We ordered drinks and our food from a very pleasant waitress.
We all had starters and main courses, but only one of the party ordered
Lovely pub, nice atmosphere inside & out. We needed to change time of booking a few hrs before, quickly sorted for us. We sat in the doggy area, which is great, comfy, and still very much part of the pub. Really good Sunday roast, large portions, hot and tasty, enjoyed by all of us.
We are new to the area having just moved from West Yorkshire so it was our first visit.
The food, service and dinning area was great. The menu was varied and we all really enjoyed our meal. We will be back in the near future
Sunday was the first time I had been here, first of all they did not have the wine or vegetarian meal I ordered, though they where quick to advise of alternatives they could do for me. I booked a table for my mum's 80th birthday following a recommendation and we wasn't disappointed. Our waitress wished my mum a happy birthday as we sat down which was a lovely surprise. The food was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed, even though it was probably the busiest time of the week! We
We are regulars at the Wheatsheaf, it is a fantastic pub with a fantastic atmosphere. The food is great and the staff also. Would definitely recommend this pub for anyone going for food, drinks or just a warm welcome. Also very good for food intolerances including gluten and dairy in our case
