We came here for a training night for the staff. There was 4 of us, we ordered 3 steaks and 1 sea bass. My steak was slighty chewy in small parts and so was my partners. My father in law said the sea bass was slightly over done. But to be honest the food was pretty good, and presented well. Our waitress was attentive, and came around several times. The desserts are expensive, and we only had one because they were half price. I would never spend £8 on a pudding. They were nice though. I would recommend this place though, as the foods good and the decor is nice as well.
Officially now one of my favourite pubs.
Firstly, we did eat here, although I didn’t grab any photos of the more modern extension to the already-existing gorgeous Manor House (the house is where the bar is!)
BUT, the food was absolutely phenomenal, in addition to the service - I’d recommend the Sunday lunch, all cooked beautifully. Tad pricy admittedly, but it is what it is.
Now, onto the bar. Absolutely stunning for a history buff like myself. The place oozes history and, thankfully, the interior has been kept mostly in line with its wonderful history and years.
There are function rooms, too, which I’ve attached as photos (one room sits up to 10 in front of a large old-fashioned fireplace).
Huge car park, excellent facilities (and electric car charging which is a good touch).
I will be back again, and again, and again!
We arrived just before our table was booked, we received a fast and friendly welcome and we're seated promptly.
We ordered our food and drinks with our designated waitress of the evening "Abi" who was very attentive, friendly and polite. Our food arrived very quickly and we were extremely pleased with the prices and value of the food.
The Pork chop dish was extremely nice, well cooked, nicely presented, very filling and well priced and the Goats cheese pizza was very flavoursome, crispy and being able to have the added theatre of the clay oven open for all to watch the pizzas being cooked was very entertaining.
10/10, great food, well priced for just under £80 for mains, sides, deserts and drinks. And a very enthusiastic waitress (Abi) who added to the overall experience.
We'll be visiting again!
We enjoyed the food. It was well put together and the staff were very nice and accommodating. I'd say it was a tad pricey for the portion size of the cauliflower steak dish. Pizza was nice and tasty.
Plentiful outdoor seating on a sunny day. Good choice of food. Pizzas were great and service was actually really good too. Staff were all friendly and accommodating including changing our beef burger to chicken. Would return
Recently came for lunch and was surprised how good the service and good was, so came back for a date night and was blown away by the atmosphere and quality of the food.
Definitely will be coming back, anything with chicken, pasta or steak I can recommend, and the steak was just as I asked for (pink, no blood) which is rare for a pub resturant. The garlic pizza is such a good addition too, not overly garlicy but soft and fluffy.
Pretty accessible too, the whole resturant is flat. Price point definitely puts this higher than a regular pub but you're getting much much better service atmosphere and food for the little extra dosh.
Also, there's actually a few veggie options other than a lentil curry that you'll normally see, great plus!
Can't really fault it 10/10
The building and outdoor area was beautiful.
It had a really cosy and classy atmosphere
We started outside having a drink and it was lovely to sit out there. Very clean and pretty.
Then we had food inside and the food was so good! The service and staff were wonderful and we had a really nice time.
We then finished our drinks outside under the heat lamps surrounded by the fairy lights.
Overall an amazing evening and will 100% be back.
Staff were really helpful and engaged and the food was excellent. It was a lovely dinner.
The food was delicious. One of the best meals I've had at this price point in a VERY long time. The serving staff were courteous and professional. I will most definitely be back soon and will be recommending to anyone who will listen!
I was really impressed with my recent visit. Me & a friend both had the Goats cheese pizza for lunch and it was one of the best pizza's I have ever had! The service was excellent and the restaurant is really nice and cosy but with a modern feel. I will be booking again soon.
Food was excellent - we were a party of 11 and everyone's meals were outstanding. Service was also excellent. High quality food, with a big varied menu to cater for all tastes
Sunday roast was tasty but on the smaller side if compared to a carvery. Atmosphere is nice with open fires and plenty of outdoor seating. Service was on the slower side for our table as others were served before us even though they arrived after. All in all a pleasant visit.
The food was amazing and the service from Catherine was great! She’s friendly, helpful and welcoming.
We will be coming back again :)
Very pleased with all aspects of our experience. The Manor house was clean, comfortable and welcoming. All staff were very friendly and approachable. All our meals were good sized portions and well cooked and presented. Meals were delivered in acceptable time. Prices very comparable. Overall, having now visited again, the Manor House will be our first call for a meal and a drink.
Excellent service provided by Franco and excellent food served too.
I will be dining here again soon.
The food is amazing!
I love calamari so I have it wherever it's available and this was the best I've had for a very long time. The whole meal was delicious and well worth what we paid.
My only niggle was the service, we were left waiting to be seated for too long and didn't feel very welcome by our server. This is the only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 because this does affect the dining experience for me personally.
