This is the best curry house in Kingston. Food is always hot, meat is always tender and staff are always friendly. Itβs great value for money, and a lovely selection of foods on the menu. Been going here for 15+ years, and will carry on going for many more. Thank you Akbar
Poppadoms and Mango chutney was amazing! Filled myself up with it that I couldn't eat all my main. I had chicken Korma and my Boyfriend had chicken tikka masala. Food was amazing!! Boyfriend said the naan bread was the best he's ever tasted. We Will definitely be returning :-) ***** 5 stars!!!

My gf and I were there for the first time. Wonderful flavor. We had a perfect experience and would say that it's the best indian food we've tried to date.
By far the best Indian restaurant for miles (trust me, I've tried them all!) The lamb tikka is beyond tender and the currys are all excellent and complex in their flavours, cannot recommend it enough!
Great Meal with family and friends, nice atmosphere, and food was excellent, flavours were recognisable right down to the saffron in the briyani dish...
Been here often and have been introducing this place to my friends. I would say this to be one of the best indian cuisine in kingston. Great taste and modified as per request. As a biryani fan! The biryani here wasn't much of real flavours but loved the mix of chicken, lamb and prawn!! Lovely it was. Also the papdom with the dips π cosy place with melodious hindi classical songs.
Sadly now closed, many a good meal has been enjoyed here, it will be missed along with the New India and the New Devi.
Was looking for an informal curry house near Kingston Hospital and was pleasantly surprised with Akbar. The restaurant is small but welcoming. Portions were quite generous, tasty and not sat in a sea of oil (which you see in a lot of restaurants/takeaways). Losing one star as my boyfriend's duck jalfrezi tasted like a curry 'base' and didn't have much flavour, so it seems you have to know what to order here (my green chicken masala was amazing). Plus they sold '660ml' bottles of Cobra when in fact they were 620ml.
We had mixed grill , naan bread , pilau rice and daal . Food was excellent , and so was the warm welcome of the owner . We will definitely come again .
Lovely food π₯ enjoyed a delicious vegetable biryani with Aloo pratha... great Indian food π₯ ππβ€οΈβ€οΈππ»
Brilliant restaurant that has survived here since 1982 under the same ownership. One of the oldest in the area, that says a lot. Service is good, have drinks on drafts and prices are reasonable. They accommodated us very late on Boxing Day and most importantly the food was great, at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Best takeaway curry in Kingston! By far! These guys have been my go-to restaurant for the best part of 5 years and have remained consistently high quality throughout. The meat is always tender and never overcooked with the perfect level of spice in the sauces. The staff are always friendly and do what they can to make you feel welcome and looked after (even if you're just coming in to collect a takeaway).
Very tasty and authentic Bengali cusine, Tandoori dishes are cooked well with excellent flavours and the naan breads are incredible.
Absolutely amazing place for Curry. I've yet to find a place I like more; and they do deliveries too! Every time I bring someone new here, they echo me in saying Its the best they've had.
The restaurants dishes are served and plated very nicely, the chicken biryani is excellent as well as the chicken curry however there are drawbacks to this restaurant such as the seating the restaurant is very compact and can only fit around 12-15 people, putting aside its occupancy it is a great restauarant and it is one of the best takeaways / asian restaurants in kingston
Delicious Indian food at a reasonable price. Friendly owner. I normally do take out but have eaten in also. Depending on the night it can be quietish or busy but service is always good either way.
Lovely staff, extensive menu and pretty good value for money. Samosas and kebabs I quite liked, butter chicken was a bit of a miss for me as I didn't think it had enough spices.
We have had two delivered takeaways in the month we have been in Kingston and they have both been excellent
( the decor rating is a fiddle as I haven't actually seen the pace but the rating system insists!)
