We’ve been back for a family Sunday roast for the last couple of weeks. The new owners have certainly made some great changes. They are so accommodating and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They looked after us adults and 4 children and has now become a firm favourite for our Sundays. They also make our dog feel very welcome too, with some yummy treats. Thanks again… see you soon!

I recently had a birthday party for my 2 year old son in a reserved area at The Black Horse. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and to make sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend it as a great hosting space.

Moved into the area in the last year and the new owners have literally transformed this place - amazing food, very generous portions and great staff. But..a special mention to Joanna behind the bar, who is simply wonderful. She always has a huge smile, is very welcoming no matter what time of day, and makes you genuinely feel at home. She's simply awesome! Overall can highly recommend this place :)

I came here on the last day of the football season, nursing a touch of a hangover from the Championship Playoff Final, but on a warm day with the wife and dog, I hoped this pub would live up to my fond first visit. It's unassuming from the main road, a stark black/navy paint job, sitting on a corner of a roundabout with a petrol station, a parade of takeaways and not much else. But once you step into the concrete garden, formerly the car park, and into the vast pub, it's a welcomed surprise. Dart board, multiple TVs, dining area, outside seating, spacious bar, macro-craft in the form of New Belgium and local ales in the form of Park Brewery. Snug by the fireplace for the winter, the comfy seating options can't be overstated. It's more or less empty on a Sunday for some reason, a handful huddled around the TV for the football and not much else, perhaps a sign of the times. I've been on other days and it's been heaving, and on Saturday night it attracts a varied crowd. The ale always pours well, I don't think the craftier stuff gets the throughput to have it always tasting the best, second pint better than the first. Big lagers always do well though. And the cocktails are banging, whoever made me the Bloody Mary saved my downward spiral. I've had the wings and snacks from here, food is decent pub grub. Roasts did look impressive and reasonably priced when I saw them coming out, and they're very dog friendly, which is a nice touch! It's an old site, goes back to 1840 and was rebuilt in 1966 further away from the road. Compared to how it was before, the exterior facelift seems drastic but a big improvement. I'm sure those who have been following this series from a local perspective might have some colourful stories of the pubs former iterations. It's a short walk from Norbiton station, and close to The Norbiton pub too. Worth including on a pub crawl, or if you want somewhere quiet-ish for the sport, pints and arrows.

My first visit since the change of management and the nice Swiss lager that was on tap is no more. No biggie though as things change, although the beer selection was quite simple. On a balmy evening the outside space was great and the pint of Guinness was very good too. The pub inside is vast too and they had sport on so presumably they show BT and Sky Sports which is always a plus point. Service was friendlier than before too so would return.

Wow. Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. My visit was part of a busy month with birthdays etc and this was my last dining experience for the month . I had his totes 2 other similar establishments so it was good to compare. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. The vibe was warm And welcoming with plenty of buzz in the air. The service was slick and the food was memorable. I ordered the beef which melted in your mouth . The portions were substantial as well. A great place to visit for a special occasion or just as a treat. I for one can’t wait to go back .

Took a friend for lunch today and we were very impressed. We had sandwiches which came on very fresh doorstep bread, salad and chips. There was so much food we couldn't actually finish it. The staff were very friendly and polite. Will definitely be going back with hubby to try their main food menu.

"The Black Horse in Norbiton is a cozy pub with a friendly staff. The pub has a traditional decor. They have a good selection of beers and they also serve delicious pub grub, and I particularly enjoyed the burguer. Overall, a nice place to relax and enjoy good company."

Under new management, haven’t been for a little while, but we’re warmly welcomed by our hosts who certainly have plans to get The Black Horse back on the cultural map of Kingston and Norbiton. Shall certainly be back to check out progress building on the more than reasonable range of beverages and menu. Clean, tidy and comfortable everything going for it with all the expected amenities. Keep up the good work gentleman!

Top quality pub with friendly staff and a nice interior. Went for the drag night with Sally Vate and had an absolute blast. Definitely something to keep on the radar for the next time!
