One of my favourite places by the river specially in Kingston. Lovely seating, indoor and outdoor.
The outdoor seating is Long and has many tank where a large group of friends can sit cosily and enjoy over a glass of beer or wine.
This place during summer specially when the Sun is out is amazing to air and enjoy beneath the rays.
The staff is friendly and good at their job.
I simply love his place.
What a fantastic pub! They have a lot of seating both inside and outside. They are dog friendly and even have treats and dog "ale" for our furry friends! The food is delicious! They have a great selection of beverages and food to choose from. The outdoor seating has a great view of the river. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor seating area. The restrooms are clean. The staff is extremely friendly and pleasant. They all had smiles on their faces. Great atmosphere. We met fellow dog people and had a great chat. Definitely will go here again!
It's a nice old fashion pub by the river. Interesting for It's design. I fancy Guinness but this time was kinda special cos if you look closer you can see hearts on the top, impressive. The bar is a bit far to be honest.
Visited at weekend loud and busy good staff places for groups or one modern lagers beers and wine, good food, sociable meeting place, trending in under 30s by the river. Burger based menu, well cooked with good ingredients.vegetarian options, wheelchair access, kid friendly, no parking
Simple pub, but worth visiting for the beautiful views of the river. It is not that big but plenty of room outside.
I was glad to find a table outside on a Saturday late afternoon.
Customer service is great as well.
The Ram itself was originally a brewery site in the 1500s, it was first noted as being a pub in 1708. Although this was a few doors down, and the current "Ram" site only appears from 1840 onwards after a licence transfer. There's nothing significant of note about this place historically, only that it's maintained a degree of independence from other tied houses having been owned by Frickers Brewery (1903-5) and Royal Brewery of Brentford respectively.
Only 2 doors down was the more colourful Eagle Tap. It was described as poorly ventilated and unsanitary, cited for drunk and disorderly behaviour, and the landlord during WW1 would sell intoxicants to soldiers. Despite this, it would turnover 5x as much as The Ram, but it ultimately became offices in the 1950s, and now a Best-One cornershop.
History lesson over (credit to Richard Holmes again), the pub itself had such a welcoming vibe. Open space with lots of booths, a small but refined select of local ales on. I opted for @twickenhamales Naked Ladies which is always a winner. Keg wise it's the usual suspects, but with a Lervig House Party beer on, and in January I think they even shove the NA one on too.
Food looked very good, a step above normal, and 50p a wing Wednesday with the T&C's specifying a minimum of 6, and no maximum. Intrigued. A spacious garden down towards the river, which during the "outside only" period of lockdown(s) took over a much, much larger space. Must have some decent contacts at the council to get away with that.
Felt like a nice pub overall, one I'd definitely go back to. Something kind of interesting (to me at least) sitting in old buildings. Take a lot of pubs current states for granted. Anyway, I'd love to see a wider selection of beers but what can you do if you're tied. Another one checked off the list, and if you're strolling along the river you can sack off that Sam Smith's pub and head here instead.
The food and drink selection in the ram is brilliant, love the location. Right next to the Thames, nice to people watch and relax on a nice hot day.
Good location, great choice of beers and excellent bar food (scotch eggs, cauliflower wings)
MIA IS AMAZING!! We called into the ram after shopping today to get some food and drinks and we were served by the lovely Mia whom I couldn’t fault, full of personality and just amazing and then she told us it was her first day? We would have never have known if she didn’t tell us all I can say is she is a credit to the ram and we will definitely be returning keep it up Mia! :)
It’s alright for a pub by the river in Kingston. Friendly staff
Great experience the view of the river is superb and service is awesome. Nice variety of bar snacks. And an endless list of drinks.
Such a great surprise!!! Food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!!!!
Such nice vibes, outside and inside!
Good food which was nice and light.
Loved the service and how kind and thoughtful the staff are.
Big thank you to Christina, who really made sure our experience was up to standard.
The Ram is a bustling place that attracts a steady stream of visitors, and it's easy to understand why. Situated by the river, this establishment offers plenty of outdoor space that allows patrons to enjoy their drinks and meals while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
One of the highlights of my visit to The Ram was the impressive selection of craft beers. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or simply looking to try something new, the diverse range of craft brews available here is sure to satisfy your taste buds. The quality of the beer was consistently good, and the staff was knowledgeable about the different options, making recommendations based on individual preferences.
The outdoor space at The Ram is a major draw. The ample seating area by the river provides a serene and refreshing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal or drinks with friends. However, due to its popularity, it can get quite crowded, especially during peak times, which may detract from the overall tranquility.
While The Ram is undoubtedly a busy place, it manages to maintain a lively and welcoming ambiance. The combination of great craft beer, delicious food, and scenic outdoor space make it a go-to spot for those seeking a memorable dining experience.
