After being let down by Tofts to have my friends baby shower my friends asked if we could possibly host it here and the ladies were lovely and let us have it upstairs. Such a lovely place and the ladies were so nice. Would recommend this place to all my friends now and am planning to visit again for some afternoon tea. Thank you again!

Lovely vegan afternoon tea with friends in cosy surroundings, we were given copious pots of tea and the food was lovely. I shall be in again on mothers day too!! Loved that we could just sit and talk and not feel rushed to leave

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff were very cheery and funny, and the prices are reasonable considering other cafes around the area. The atmosphere is amazing with tons of art that can be bought. The quirky tea cosies are hilarious, one even had a fox on it. The cakes were divine and quite rich. Definitely will drop by again as it was absolutely delicious. Considering I'm not vegan, the BLT was fantastic.

Absolutely lovely little cafe & coffee shop! I adore The Artisan, and am so gutted to hear it's going to be closing over the next month. It's shops like these that really make our community here in the Avenues part of Hull feel like a close-knit family. Not only do they have some of the yummiest, freshest baked goods (their lemon cake is to die for!), and the best cups of coffee & tea, but they also help support local artists & artisans by selling local artwork and handcrafted items by them! I wish more homegrown local shops & cafes did that! It's a very unique spot with a warm, friendly atmosphere with a vast array of fun artwork decorated on their walls. By far one of my favorite spots on the Avenues. Anytime I know I'm heading towards Newland Ave, I make a stop here- and you should too, before their doors close permanently in May! xxx

Lovely cosy little cafe, adore the window displays as it gives the place such character. Lovely selection of coffee and sweet treats. Really enjoy that they display works from local artists.

We had our wedding meal at The Artisan and couldn't have been happier. We chose the Artisan as we wanted somewhere that did great food and drinks - but was also intimate with a lovely, romantic atmosphere. Emma went above and beyond to make sure we were happy - and the afternoon tea was absolutely perfect. We visit this amazing cafe regularly and could not recommend it highly enough. Patrick and Hollie

Vegans and vegetarians, tell your friends, a CHOICE of delicious cakes made without using animal products. If you love independent artists there is loads of fab art up on the walls and available to purchase, and some quirky Little gift ideas too.

Lovely little cafe. We sat upstairs where it was really private. The cakes were light and tasty. The quirky tea cosies were a nice touch although they should be washed more often as they were a little smelly

Love this coffee shop so much! It has the most lovely atmosphere and the most friendly staff! Coffee is a pretty average price around the £2-£4 mark depending on what you order. The staff are so lovely and kind, and the also offer plenty of vegan, veggie, and gluten free options! They have free WiFi which is always a nice bonus. Plan on going here many times again!

The Artisan is a quirky but essentially traditional coffee house that also features some vegan twists on classic cakes and savoury snacks. Don't forget the hidden upstairs room as well as the café at street level. From the best doorstep toast through to a full afternoon tea, this place has great food to accompany it's excellent coffee. There are also some crafts for sale. You will probably find a bourbon biscuit or a custard cream in your old-fashioned saucer. It's best to resist the urge to split it and lick off the filling, this is a nice area. Good luck with that.

My daughter and I had afternoon tea as a special birthday treat. The tea was piping hot just as I like it and the novelty tea cosy was adorable and kept the tea nice and hot right to the last cup. The sandwiches were a nice mix, ranging from cucumber and cream cheese, curried chicken, ham and wholegrain mustard and cheese and pickle all on different breads. The scone we beautiful and light with lashings of cream and jam, very scrumptious. Unfortunately by this time we were unable to eat any more due to full bellies. I picked at the blueberries and strawberries and then we asked for the almond cake, chocolate cake and the lemon drizzle cake to be boxed up so that my daughter and son in law could enjoy a treat whilst camping tonight. Excellent service and great atmosphere. Many different arts and crafts to view and buy. It is a great place to take a book and have a read whilst grabbing a bite to eat. Or meet with friends for a catch up over coffee. Loved my visit today and will go back again soon.

My daughter and i love this quirky, artisan, coffee shop. It has an old world charm, given it's original frontage. The ladies are warm and welcoming, giving the place a relaxed feel. It also helps when the cakes are delicious too. Can't wait to visit next week with my Mum., i know she'll appreciate a good pot of rosey lea too!
