Great pub!! Just how pubs should be. Been there more frequently lately as I've been staying in the Premier Inn, which is a short walk away. Landlord is good crack and the chef is spot on. Food is slightly higher priced than average but it's perfect. I recommend the chicken pie. In summary it's a real friendly pub with good grub, a good pint and a nice dog in site to welcome youngster a hard day!!!!!
Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. And a lovely dog too! Really enjoy our visits here and would recommend to friends and family.

These days it is very rare to find a proper traditional British pub that does proper traditional British food. Most places the Sunday dinners are often (dry) carvery's with frozen veg, chips etc with little thought or taste going into the food.
This place, however, is AMAZING. The food is absolutely beautiful and very, VERY tasty. I've just finished my beef Sunday roast and it was delicious � I love coming here, on a Sunday especially, and where else can you have a gorgeous meal to the sound of some locals singing local sea-shanties??
Please please don't EVER change your food, the way it's cooked/prepared or the ingredients you use, it is utterly delicious and a rare delight in these days of processed rubbish. Thank you thank you thank you �
Was here for lunch yesterday and the food was exceptional the staff where polite and very friendly don't have a bad word to say about it would highly recommend to anyone.
A great inviting pub. Food is always top quality, selection of drinks is outstanding and its always welcoming, warm and friendly.
Absolutely fantastic, I visited today with a friend for lunch. And we wasn't disappointed. We came here on his recommendation, the food was excellent the drinks where good. Staff where friendly and very helpful, my only critic is the seating arrangements. It was comfy but not ideal too many stools and not enough chairs, it was also quite low down. Bearing that in mind I am 6ft 6" so it is probably perfect for the average person.
I Will Deffinaitly Visit again... and soon hopefully.

Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, good beer and nice feel to the place. Didn't have anything to eat but food looked good. Apparently folk/busker friendly. Great antidote the 'theme' pubs. Would definitely go back. Treat yourself.
