Absolutely fabulous nothing like pub grub it's just like mother used to make it. Okay it's a bit pricey compared with others but it's the ambience of the place. It appeared to be pensioners paradise with the 20% off everything, but then again it's those who seem to keep most places going, especially
Fantastic pub, the atmosphere from the moment you walked in was great, the building and decoration just has to be seen. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was all freshly cooked and tasted great.
A fabulous find! Quirky, lovely old pub. Great atmosphere and really superb food too. Will definitely be back!
A lovely and characterful pub in Hills old cobbled High St. Was recommended to go there for lunch by someone at a local museum I visited. It's an old and impressive building. You will see the inside by viewing my photos. It had a nice relaxed vibe and I received a friendly welcome from the young lad
Excellent Old Town pub with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere at lunchtime. I’d forgotten how much I like this place. Great choice of beer & my all time favourite chicken curry half-n-half on the menu. I won’t leave it so long before my next visit.
Brilliant place for a pint and staff were very welcoming great service 👍
Booked a table for lunch, we were not disappointed. The staff here are so friendly, you really do feel welcome. Opted for the Hull Chippy Special of fish, chips and a fish patty. Good atmosphere, nice decor, good food and efficient staff.
Unfortunately I arrived to eat with friends and they politely refused to serve me any food because they could not cook anything without cross contamination. So I had crisps lol. My friend forgot to check when booking our table so it's my fault for not checking myself but the atmosphere is good and
The Lion & Key is a lovely, cosy space with fantastic fish and chips. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Additionally, the decor is unique, and the space is warm and inviting. It’s an excellent place for a meal or for a quick drink. It’s conveniently located with easy access to the rest of t
Good quality food, served in good time and hot. Good selection of beers and bar staff will recommend and give tasters.
Went for lunch. The food was excellent, I recommend the fish and chips. All the staff were friendly and the beer was lovely and a reasonable choice. There was an added bonus for us oldies in that we got 20% off the bill. Highly recommend.
Visited Hull Old Town today and so glad we did as it's a great olde area. Found this very traditional "boozer" and it's full of character and serves great food too .... I went for Hull Patty (can't beat 2 different ways to have potatoes .... except by adding more) and chips and was not disappointed.
Great food and a lovely pub, very cosy inside with lots of memorabilia. The food waiting time was a bit long but no complaints once arrived. Sadly no draft cider available and bizarrely no apple cider in bottles either ( only pear or fruit). Limited draft lagers on draft as well. But will definitely
I eat there quite regularly as part of social events and the food is always excellent and good value in my opinion. I particularly like the fish and chips and their vegetarian options. Service is excellent and friendly, and the place has always been buzzing when I've been in.
Excellent pub in the old town. Very comfortable interior with a welcoming ambience. The ceilings are covered with beer mats and the walls with old adverts. There are also odds and ends of nautical memorabilia. The food is good - high quality pub food with plentiful of vegetarian options. It is all c
Great pub, what else do you need?
Amazing local pub in Hull. They serve the best fish and chips and make a great pattie. If you don't know what a pattie is, make sure to try one, you can thank me later by giving this review a like ;)
