We ended up visiting here after being disappointed with The Plough in Itchen Abbas. A really friendly place, welcoming to all. Food was good. We had bacon and scallop salad and children had chips and a mini platter. Really good food. Garden lovely too and friendly staff. Thank you :)
Awesome! Booked for 12 adults which included 4 vegans, and 6 babies in high chairs. Food was exceptional, vegan options best I've had anywhere out yet - chestnut en croute and sticky toffee pudding, and pub so accommodating with one year olds all over the floor. As it's our local I'm so happy the pub is doing well and will be bringing lots of friends and family back again. Thank you.

Had a lovely meal at the King Charles on Saturday evening with friends, food was fantastic, service with a smile, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning!

Fantastic food, drink and company . The chef was incredibly accommodating when I asked him to change something on the menu because I am fussy! Spent a thoroughly lovely evening with close friends and family in a relaxed and stylish setting
Just had a fantastic lunch here and for a very reasonable price.
Excellent family pub - stopped in on the evening tired and stressed from travelling with overtired children.
Immediately welcomed by friendly staff, who took our order promptly. The kids play area is amazing and the food arrived quickly and was extremely good, my pork belly was amazing and my partner's fish and chips very good. The kids menus were very good too, proper sausages and the kids fish fingers were proper bits of fish battered and fried.
Wonderful pub, with everything very well thought out. A place for adults and kids to relax in- couldn’t ask for anything more. We had our daughters birthday party here and Dawn did an amazing job in making sure everything went smoothly. The best place around ✨✨✨
The pub has been refurbished since a much earlier visits made in 2016.
The pub opens at 1200 hrs for lunch.

We are always made to feel welcome and this always makes our visit a very enjoyable experience. There is a wide choice on the menu using local produce. The food served is always of good quality. Today's visit the meals were of excellent quality.
It is a surprise there are not a few more customers to enjoy this experience.
The pub is kept clean. The toilets are very clean .
Went today for breakfast.
At first I thought it was taking a long time to come. But when the breakfast arrived it was clear why.
Everything had been cooked fresh. We all had the large fry up.
Each item was cooked to perfection.
The eggs had a lovely runny middle, beans nice and hot.
Mushrooms tasty, black pudding perfect, sausages full of flavour and the chorizo hash was sublime.
Even the butter for the toast was real butter. And the toast fresh and delicious, and I think it was a fresh baked farmhouse bread. It certainly wasn’t supermarket bread.
I highly recommend you try this traditional country pub that shares the kings name a visit.
I am a local but this was my first visit for breakfast.
I think I may go on different days and work through the breakfast menu.
They do everything from a full fry up, to scrambled eggs to smashed avocado.
Give it a go you will not be disappointed.
It was £10 for the large brekkie we had.
Value for money for sure.
Attended a beautiful wedding reception here at the weekend, the atmosphere/garden was wonderful, staff super lovely and accommodating, the food was delicious and loved the countryside scenery. Will definitely be coming back to try the roast!
Great atmosphere and themed evenings throughout week. Particularly good onion rings and burgers! Fish and chips could do with having proper chips and not fries however if possible!

Good food pub in Kings Worthy. Dropped in for dinner whilst staying overnight in Kings Worthy for work. Good, quick service; piping hot and tasty; nice pint of San Miguel. It's a lively pub with people of all ages coming and going. It's also pet friendly, although in practice this means dogs and not parrots, but you could try... I like the design of the place too. All good!
They kindly hosted my son and daughter in law wedding party.Nothing too much trouble ,all went smoothly lovely barbecue food and excellent pizza from their own oizza oven.
Dawn and her team were friendly organised and efficient and helped to make a special day even more special.
Thanks again,I know the Pizza oven is operating on a Friday and Saturday during summer weather permitting, combined with a great selection of beers and gins is the place to enjoy a summer afternoon evening .
