Really lovely pub, we were there on New Year's Eve afternoon and it was fairly quiet apart from the event on the other side of the pub. The pub was decorated very festively and Christmas tunes playing in the background it was actually rather nice and a couple of good pints of Brixton.
This is a lovely English country pub, with a modern food menu and strong selection of ales and beverages.
The interior is pleasant and well decorated and the bar staff were very friendly when taking our food and drink orders. Service to the table was a little bit slow at one point, but it was quite busy so I suppose it can be forgiven.
Exceptionally good value food on offer and caters for a variety of tastes. Well worth paying this place a visit!
It's all about the people - friendly, helpful, attentive, chatty - just perfect; and the food? Wow! You often see 'Gastro Pub' bandied about, well this IS a gastro pub - perfect for foodies!
And just to make a perfect pub even better, the overnight stay in the quiet car park was free of charge if you're eating in the pub.
A night out doesn't get any better. ❤️
Having decided to extend our 3 night stay in Norfolk, we noticed a few references to the Black Horse pub in Castle Rising,allowing overnight stays in the motorhome. Such a perfect location and most welcoming team. Close to the castle and ideal for pleasant walks in the vicinity. With a great selection of beers and wines and well prepared and tasty meals, I had the gammon which was delicious 😋. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Make sure to call ahead if you want to stay over. The parking is flat if you find a place by the wall .
This is definitely the new PLACE TO GO! I love the Black Horse Inn at Castle Rising since it has been under new ownership. It always seems to be busy when I have been there for Friday night drinks, meals and bank holiday BBQ's with friends and family. The food is of such high quality. My favourite dish is the tagliatelle. The outside seating area is relaxing and modern. The inside seating area has been brightened up and now has a brilliant atmosphere. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and helpful as well. Keep it up Black Horse!
Nice atmosphere, restaurant lovely and chilled, went today for a nice lunch and had the cajun chicken burger that was coating in the most delicious breadcrumbs honestly it was unreal! Best burger we have ever had thank you! Compliments to the chef
We booked a table for 12 people on a Saturday evening for my Dad's 80th birthday. It was the first time any of us had eaten here since the change of ownership. The food and service were first class. Everyone of us loved our visit and have said we would return.
Dropped in to this delightful country pub on our way from a day in the cold and wet. The pub is large warm and welcoming, the staff extremely friendly and the beer was served well. The sofas were comfortable and the open fire very very welcoming.
I looked at the menu, which seemed excellent and well priced unfortunately we had a pressing engagement so had to leave but would definitely visit again and probably try the restaurant too.
I visited the Blackhorse yesterday with 2 friends and we had a lovely lunch, just a light sandwich each but it was really good and great portions. The welcome we had from John & Amy was brilliant, such a nice atmosphere in the pub and restaurant and nothing was too much trouble, they were lovely. It's all doggy friendly with treats for the dogs, which was a really nice touch, especially for all the dog walkers around the surrrounding area. The music was great to tap along to and we all had a great day! I will definately be returning again and again and i would highly recommend the Blackhorse for drinks and food 👍😊

Truly grateful to this wonderful establishment. We hired the venue for a family members wake. The staff were so attentive and the buffet they prepared was brilliant. I am ceoliac, prior to the event we informed them we had a gluten free guest attending and they prepared a wonderful selection of GF food for me that tasted delicious! The staff even sought me out and brought the GF food over to me to make sure I got it. Very much appreciated!

Nice Restaurant/Pub in this historic village just off the North Norfolk Coast Road near Sandringham. The food is good and for Sunday lunch you're asked to order ahead. Dishes are good value for money. Our party had Roast Beef and Roast Pork as well as the Roast Butternut squash vegetarian option. All were very good indeed. They have a simple dessert menu that varies but all delicious. Unsure about wheelchair access but they have very modern, very clean loos. There is masses of parking and they are dog friendly!
Incredible meal. True English food with an amazing atmosphere. If you are in the area this is the place to eat. Enjoy Castle Rising and pop over here for a drink and a meal. Haddock and chips is the best I've found in the country.

Fabulous venue, we, the Breathe Easy folk had our Christmas lunch there.
We loved every moment there as the staff were brilliant. Given that we were at least 40 people, the staff coped brilliantly.
I shall certainly be back.
Had meal in garden last summer which was good food.r Have recently been heading there for a beer every few weeks. Lovely pint, good relaxing music with fire place.
