Great choice of beer, excellent food. The new management have turned this pub around and it is now a great family pub with a great atmosphere and excellent food. The staff are friendly and make you feel more than welcome. I have returned many times whilst visiting my Mum and her husband and the food has been top quality every time. Well worth a visit, especially for Sunday dinner, make sure you book first :-)
Only time for one course but after a warm and friendly welcome, a short wait for a well presented and delicious meal. The portions were generous but quite frankly we were too full to manage a dessert anyway. Judging by the comments of the other diners they seemed well happy also.
All this at a very reasonable price too.
We will return.
Family friendly pub with a few proper ales an extensive menu and dining room. It was a hot sunny day when we visited and we had fish and chips with peas (mushy peas for me!) In the garden. A group of 'old boys' were discussing issues of the day and the other tables were occupied by families, couples and a male group. All very convivial. What's not to like.
We visited yesterday for first time and really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in a nice cosy bar with log burner. Very welcoming host. Nice bar area with traditional board games laid out for customers to play. Had a wonderful pint of Elgood's Black Dog, and we both enjoyed our meals. Delicious home made burger with chunky chips and salad, plus a lovely scampi and chips. Hit the spot perfectly on a chilly breezy day. We hope to be moving to the village soon, and to become regulars. Maybe next time warm enough to sit outside!
Another absolutely fabulous meal at The Victory Inn. Christmas lunch included beautifull tasty turkey with all the trimmings, all the usual freshly cooked veg of carrots and sprouts, cauliflower and leeks in white sauce, perfectly cooked roast potatoes and parsnips, Yorkshire pud, bread pudding, pigs in blanket and stuffing. Wayne, we did our very best to eat it all but with just as tasty starters and puddings, we did leave a little bit on the plate, sorry. I've always had Christmas dinner at home and this was a real treat with the usual excellent high standard of food and service. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all. We will be returning soon.
One of the best Sunday lunches we've had, quality food, beautifully presented and plenty of it....served on a 10" plate! A huge pate starter! Friendly staff and an overall very enjoyable dining experience. Only found it by working at a job in the village but will return and recommend it to others. 👍

What a nice meal! Just went in for tea and the food was great, big portions, couldn't even finish it all, really tasty and they treated us great! Definitely will go again!
Must admit one of the best meals I’ve had! Lovely pub and staff and a massive plus side lovely beer garden to enjoy the sun! Would highly recommend
Now called The Partridge & well worth a visit. Sunday lunch is scrummy & you definitely need to book ahead, the telephone number is still the same. Give it a go.

Beautifull. Place and scenary the deers outside. On the grass even. Saw a pheasant sitting on the roadside beautifull. Row of plum colour looking trees sooo picturess
