Didn't book a table just walked in tonight, we were greeted by a lovely waitress called Morgan who couldn't have been more helpful, we were shown to a table, our drink and food order were taken quickly and our food was fantastic, best fish and chips I have had in a long time...the batter was to die for...we were also served by Jack who was also very friendly and smiley..would highly recommend a visit. Thank you for a lovely night. X
Walked in by chance for our anniversary meal, welcoming service, table straight away which we were great full for, meals were of good size and price, cosy atmosphere definitely recommend.
We've just had a lovely meal at the Royal Oak. 4 adults, 2 children. Walked in at about 5pm. No problem with seating. The young gentleman at the bar greeted us and continued to serve us all evening, even though he was covering the bar on his own. He didn't rush us and was patient with our individual requests . The food was lovely and plentiful. Atmosphere was relaxing and informal. We will definately be returning.
Excellent meal with my girlfriends NYE lunchtime, very attentive and accommodating staff, happy to go the extra mile, very nice food
Visited for the first time last night since the new management took over and we loved it. I had the salmon which was delicious, partner had the burger which he thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. Thank you for a beautiful meal we will definitely return very soon!
The food was fantastic in particular the 'Royal Oak burger'. The Interior is a huge improvement & staff very friendly. Great to have it on our doorstep. See you soon.
Lovely place to eat and drink 🍹 Great interior as well. What a transformation of once unwelcoming and tired pub. 😊
Food was spot on 10 out 10 would deffo recommend
Sunday lunch with the family...fab. service excellent! Lunch with friends also great. I must say the service is brilliant and staff welcoming and friendly.
The pub is much better under the new ownership and the food is lovely!
Had a lovely meal yesterday evening with my family including 2 children.
The waiter was on his own but was efficient and pleasant. No waiting, all meals were hot and delicious, comfortable, clean, nice relaxed evening. Forgot to leave tip so will have to go again !
Great setting, ample parking, friendly service.....would highly recommend.
Great lunch sandwiches. Chips were ok, nice enough.
Stumbled upon the Royal Oak by luck, and glad i did, i had a lovely beef roast, it was the best roast i have had in a long time, the staff were very friendly and polite, the pub had a very warm and friendly atmosphere, i left completely full, and its very reasonably priced, i highly recommend the Royal Oak if your in the area.
Lovely food and staff were fantastic. Friendly and Professional. Thank you. Lovely pub.
We enjoyed ourselves here with great food and service landlady was very helpful and friendly would highly recommend this establishment would advise booking as very popular well worth a visit.
Brilliant friendly pub staff excellent food very good cant wait to visit again with family and friends.
The food in here is fantastic, the staff amazing and without a doubt a true classic British pub, set in a lovely village with great surriu dings and not spoilt by "plastic chefs" keep up the great work and ppl will keep coming. I've eaten many meals here by the way and never had a bad one yet
Absolutely first class our first visit to the royal oak this pub/restaurant is amazing the food and service is second to none highly recommend the guy behind bar is very attentive probably one of the best we have come across definitely be coming back
Stopped in for a drink but decided to eat very good service and good menu
What a great village pub, everyone should wish for a pub and Landlady like this in there village. Excellent service.
Great pup, friendly staff and good food!!! Would recommend 👍🏻
We both ate Coates pies, for obvious reasons. They did the name proud were really well filled and tasty. Pleasant surroundings
Friendly, accommodating staff, good food & beer, one of the best options in the Lichfield area.
I come to Lichfield often to see my elderly mother. She is fixed in her ways, opinionated, and her social filters are off. I am not a lot better. The staff here just smile and look after us. I suspect they actually *train* new staff!
Beer is good, always a couple of real ales to choose from. The pots of tea are also very nice, mum loves them. There is a good selection of food and it is generally a step up from average pub fayre. It's my go-to place for lunch with mum. I was sorely tempted to give a poor review, just to stop more people turning up, as I really rely on getting a table here! ;-)
Great pub great food and great atmosphere friendly staff and well priced
11 went on Friday the 17th February, for my birthday, meals were served all together, good size meals, cooked beautifully, staff very helpful and attentive. Thank you very much.
I have driven past this pub for a number of years, but finally visited on a Saturday morning to meet up with an old colleague. Easy parking and a friendly welcome. Some nice beers on tap and a good selection of food, from light bites to meals. Both food and drinks were reasonably priced. Very pleasant and I will be returning. Totally recommend the Royal Oak.
Lovely Sunday Roast good quality food at a reasonable price. Staff very attentive and helpful. The only thing I would say that needs improvement is the selection of deserts! They could do with old fashioned puddings such as crumple or pie, bread and butter pudding etc. The only things available are very chocolate based apart from sticky toffee pudding but that is usually sold out! Showing the need for a good pudding choice .
I would still recommend the roasts though and especially the Pork..
