Cyclist friendly , great stop and delicious morning rolls. Also great to see somewhere offering proper filter coffee, thank you ! Will be back
Arrived just as it opened on a Friday morning after a supposedly simple walk around Dunlop and the surrounding area turned into a mystery tour!! A reviving bowl of soup and a scone topped with jam and cream with a refreshing cup of coffee was exactly what we needed. Just as well we’d finished our walk as we waddled our way back to the car…..absolutely delicious. As Arnie said “I’ll be back”.
We recently used Struther Farmhouse to cater for a party we had. Ruth and Bertha were fantastic to deal with from start to finish, from great communication during the menu planning stages, to the fantastic hot food delivered on time, ready to eat. All our guests were very complimentary of all the dishes provided but the beef lasagne was a clear favourite! Would highly recommend speaking to Ruth and the team if you have any events coming up or pop into the cafe to try for yourself ☺️
Where to begin?
Living within Dunlop village I have used the services of Struther Farmhouse on numerous occasions. To date we have:
* purchased pre-prepared Christmas dinners,
*ordered in marvellous meals for Mother’s Day,
*pre-ordered weekend meals and sweet treats when the thought of cooking has been too much,
*dined in and rejoiced in the wonders of the desserts tray,
*sat outside on a sunny Sunday morning eating bacon rolls and drinking tea.
I mean, come on, what is not to love about all of the above? Service is always friendly and welcoming and the food is made to order and has a real homely feel to it, all made on the premises by a small family team and served in generous portions.
As well as the above dining requests I have also had Ruth and her team cater a Burns Supper in a local venue for me, leaving everyone who attended impressed with the quality of the fare on offer. I should add that it was incredibly competitively priced given the standard of food provided. Again, portions were generous and I ate haggis, neeps and tatties for the rest of the week!
Aside from the food offerings there is also a shop on site which sells a lovely assortment of locally produced goods. It is rare that I am able to pop in and leave without coming home with a jar of honey, a candle, a box of artisan salt or the like.
I would like to say that Struther is a hidden gem but isn’t. People come from far and wide to experience all that it has to offer and once you visit yourself you will understand why.
A big thank you from me to everyone at Struther as we are so incredibly lucky to have an establishment like yours in our little village. ❤️
This place is amazing. We love to come and have lunch or just a coffee and cake and everything is always delicious. I highly recommend it!
Delightful restaurant with friendly staff and delicious entries on the menu. When in Dunlop, you should make time to stop by this warm and inviting cafe.
We had a great breakfast. The service was very good and the staff very friendly. The little shop really interesting. Bought some nice things to give as presents
First visit and it won't be the last. A hidden gem tucked away in Dunlop. Not a massive choice of food on the menu but I would've had everything on it so plenty of choice for me. 5 courses, £30 a head, bring your own alcohol, selection of soft drinks available. Enjoyed every minute of our visit, left absolutely stuffed and desert deserves an extra special mention as I wish I'd left more room for more of delicious help yourself selection. Thank you to all staff for making our visit so enjoyable and my compliments to the chef.
Used their Struthers at home service and had a really good father's day dinner with minimal effort. Highly recommended.
Lovely mother & daughter serving delicious tea, rolls & scones in tranquil environment
