The Turnpike - Kidlington - Photo album

This country pub remains as it's always been. We were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic Holly on arrival and thoroughly enjoyed a lovely cuppa and the relaxed Sunday afternoon atmosphere. We're looking forward to returning to try the Sunday roast dinner which looked absolutely delicious and o
Returned to the pub we had our first date, just 7 years on. Under new ownership since then and a new menu I'm sure. The food was very nice and £102 for a three course meal for both of us is very good for today's prices. Staff are friendly and service was reasonable. The carpark is just off the round
I didn’t know before visiting Turnpike that chicken fingers could be so good. According to my oldest this was the best chicken fingers she has tried and she has tried many, trust me. The day’s pie (ham and cheese)was really good but a bit to soft for my liking, but the taste was really good
We have visited the place with the family👪 for Sunday roast. Very short distance from Oxford and easy to combine it with a visit to the close garden center in Yarnton. 👷‍♀️ Staf were lovely, smiley and very helpful. 🍺🍷A great variety of beers and wines. 🍲 The food was tasteful and reasonably pric
Food was lovely, but fries tasted like they were thrown in the fryer a few times to get back to temperature. Hard, too crispy and oily. Everything else was lovely. There was a long wait but they compensated us for that. I recommend the beef brisket sandwich! Yum.
Hadn’t been here for many years; I was pleased to find that it’s as characterful and lovely as I remember. I opted for the fishcakes which were excellent and also reasonably priced. We also had some coffees afterwards which were far better than most pubs would serve. The service is efficient and fri
Dropped in here with my 2 yr old grandson for something to eat. Found the bar & waitress service to be very friendly, efficient and professional. The food was good, despite my grandson deciding not to eat most of it. Came on a Thursday around 5:30 & there was a nice relaxed atmosphere & not too busy
Had a lovely meal on a Friday night. Had the lamb kofta and a chicken burger was delicious. We had some really great music in the background, would highly recommend. Served by Holly and Celine very nice service. Would definitely come back.
Victoria looked after us very well. She was courteous and helpful. Our food and drinks order was delivered promptly with no mistakes. Would certainly recommend The Turnpike. We have used other Vintage Inns and the experience has always been good. Thank you.
We came here for a Sunday lunch recently and we were absolutely delighted with the food, service and overall experience. I had the Sunday Trio roast (beef, pork, turkey) and every element convinced. The flavorful gravy, super tender and juicy turkey and succulent pork belly were my highlights but th
Food was very good. Girlfriend had the signature burger which she loved and personally had bass. Desserts were also excellent with service to match. Unfortunately in area on holiday so unlikely to return but would definitely if we were a local! Recommend.
Very nice and cosy place, on arrival we were greeted by the general manager who was very friendly and warm. The food was excellent, thank you to kitchen team(George, Macio, and Joe) and to the waitress who served us(Ellie🥰) because she was very attentive and courteous. Highly recommended ❣
I’m a very picky eater I order my steak medium-rare but always ask for it to be more on the rare side. My steak was cooked to perfection by Connor and our waitress amber was extremely attentive and helpful! I would 100% go here again just for the steak!
Came for dinner tonight with my family, had a wonderful meal and a good time all-round! Especially big shout outs to Kim and Keeley who were very accomodating and friendly all night. We will definitely be coming back more in the future!
NOW ON A NEW CYCLE ROUTE from PEARTREE or Oxford City Centre CANAL TOWPATH. One of my favourites solo or entertaining. Cycle racks round the back for those having more than two. Good selection of Real Ales. Food Excellent.
Served by Jess, Mane and Joe in the kitchen. Absolutely superb meal of a cod wrap, halloumi skewer w pitta bread, followed by creme brulée, and a mango and passionate fruit parfait. Great service too, felt well looked after.
Cosy pub with great food! Staff always super friendly too. We’ve been here for the cooked breakfast and most recently their Sunday roast. Both absolutely delicious. Cooked breakfast had the best sausages I’ve ever eaten! Their roast was so filling - everything cooked to perfection, the rosemary c
