lovely pub, great atmosphere , famous cobs lived up to expectations, lovely lunchtime drink in the sun ... only criticism not enough parking for such a popular pub local residents must get fed up but otherwise loved it x

First class ales, lagers and cider and the cobs - oh the cobs. Be prepared for the cobs - cobs to expierence once in your life and yes, cobs to die for! No pretence - simply the best. It is what it is. A great place to visit.

Great afternoon atmosphere. Closing at 4pm when you've got a good crowd in seems a little odd. Melt in the mouth beef on the cob, beautiful.

we love The Anchor, all of us. we are a family of 6, Mum, Dad & 4 kids, aged between 7 & 13. we love the cobs, the cider, the ale, the diet coke, the mini cheddars, the sweet jars in the corridor, the many games of cards that we play, the very friendly staff. Obviously all of this is fabulous if the sun is shining but still a lovely time for us all if it's not.

The Anchor not onl has Great Beer, but also quite possibly the Very Best Cobs you will get anywhere.......Beef & Ham so thick and tender and huge amounts of side salad for each. Super old Black Country Village Pub.......Arrive early though, because everyone now seems to know about it, so it can get rammed!!!

Used to be a regular summer haunt with our parents but since they both passed away in 2016 we haven't been. Myself, my sister and nephew came yesterday.. cobs still the best however no orange cider and £18 for 5 cobs, 3 packets of crisps, a lemonade and a cider but its only every now and again I suppose

What an absolute gem! £3 a cob, piles of salad. I had the beef which included some beautiful beef dripping. Great selection of beers, snacks, and even condiments. Great beer garden. The perfect stop off

Excellent line up of beers and cobs still as good. Two thick slices of brisket in a very fresh cob with ample salad as always. As my companion from Scotland would say 'Marvellous '!

Absolute gem of a place, huge amount of seating outside and all under cover. There are also some heaters to help keep you warm. Sandwiches (cobs) are superb value. Only cheese, beef, or ham but amazing as they are very generous with filling, and the side salad is a meal in itself. Parking can be tricky at busy times but worth a visit and very dog friendly. They have opened up a new car park a few metres down the road for additional parking. Please note this is a cash only venue but there is a card machine inside. But you are better bring cash in case it isn't working.

Went here Sunday afternoon 27th Aug and it was great, as usual. Cobs with great chunks of Beef, Cheese or Ham with rough cut Salad . Served super quick with great selection of drinks to wash it all down. Plenty of seating outside and a canal nearby to walk it all off. Quality place

The way Pubs used to be, basic but superb simple cobb food menu served until late, well kept beers and wine, cash ONLY but handy cash machine in bar. Friendly service both behind and outside the bar, tables cleared promptly. Don't miss it, highly recommended!

Fantastic place for a pint and a cob! Plenty of outdoor seating - some under cover and some not. There are also some with heaters. However, you may also turn up and still not be able to get a seat. This is a reflection of just how busy it can be but of how great the place is too. Dogs welcome 🙂 No card payments accepted, however, there is a cash machine inside. The only niggle I have about here is the lack of parking. We do always manage to get parking but it's always a bit of a nightmare 😬

Lovely village pub, with possibly the finest cobs (beef, cheese or ham) in the known world, served with copious salad. Gets busy of a lunchtime, and with good reason! Not the largest selection of ales but what there is is well kept and very quaffable. Well worth a visit, but remember they don't do cards - cash only.
