Lovely and relaxed restaurant doing simple but fresh and tasty food. Wonderful service often lade by Sarah the owner. Very nice wine list too but its just a great place to chill out and enjoy the atmosphere and food.
Loved it. From the Moment we walked in and had a pre dinner drink at the bar, to the paying of the bill - the service was faultless and the food amazing. We were a party of 4 and had the tasting menu. One of us - me - doesn't eat meat and is Gluten intolerant. It was not a problem to the kitchen at The Lighthouse - nothing was too much trouble. The Very green asparagus and pea risotto with broccoli I was served while the others had their meat course was one of the best, if not the best risottos I have ever tasted.
Such value for money too at £50 per head. We did indulge in a few bottles of wine, and the guys had the cheese course too, but still, great value for money and an amazing evening. We will definitely be returning. A Must if you're in the area - St Georges Park, JCB and Alton Towers - all a reasonable drive away.
Simply the best food and service on the planet. I am so very fortunate to have this incredible restaurant on my doorstep. The food is just incredible, as are the wines. The espresso martinis are perfect. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Simply wonderful.
Finally managed to book a table here and can understand why it's taken so long! An absolute hidden gem of a seafood restaurant tucked away in rural Leicestershire.
Skipping the starter, I opted for the mussels with bottle kicking cider as my main. I was blessed with some of the most perfectly cooked, plumpest and juiciest mussels I have ever eaten! The only letdown was the portion size which I felt was more starter sized than main...
I do not have a sweet tooth so seldom order dessert but left feeling hungry I opted for the Affogato which was equally as delicious as my main.
Would I eat here again? The food tasted amazing & the service was awesome but I left feeling hungry... Yes but despite how good they tasted, I would avoid the Mussels unless you have already eaten!
Another amazing meal with our closest friends for a belated birthday treat. Despite our friends arriving a little late (M1 from London on Bank Holiday weekend! ) Sarah was delightful and took away our stress!
Needless to say...our friends loved their 1st meal with you & promise to return . Thank you to Sarah, Lino and all at The Lighthouse....you are amazing. Dawn and John
We made the 35 min trip from Hinckley on a whim as we really fancied fish & found this hidden gem through an internet search - we weren’t disappointed! Lovely staff, great atmosphere & a refreshingly varied menu with lots of choices. We loved their sharing concept as we were able to sample more dishes than we would normally be able to & each was delicious. The wine list is carefully curated & has a great selection by the glass too. We will definitely return as it was superb!
One of the best seafood restaurants. The food, service, and staff are perfect.
Absolutely fantastic menu. The food was devine. Not too much or too little. Staff were excellent.
Fully recommend.
Just a fabulous fish feast. The Mussels in Cider are to die for!!
And, as always, friendly, attentive staff who are never intrusive and unfailingly polite.
One of the best meals I have ever had. A lovely warm and welcoming restaurant with a great menu and very friendly staff. Service was excellent from all of the staff. Food is superb with a wide choice of all courses. For the mains you could choose to have a small or large portion of some dishes which is a great idea. I cannot wait to go again it was that good. Very highly recommended.
Good food good service cosy place, fresh fish, good selection of wines too! Would recommend!
Delicious food ,staff ,attentive but not intrusive, superb atmosphere, realistic pricescertainly will go back and highly recommend.
Had a lovely Mothering Sunday meal with my Mum, my wife and our children. The food was excellent. The service outstanding - friendly and informal, efficient and unobtrusive, and the food arrived quickly. This was appreciated all the more because my Dad died this week, so this Mothering Sunday was pretty bittersweet. Being looked after and fed so well really helped.
Having good time with my wife, food was delicious.
Big respect and thanks to lovely staff who provide us great moments of our lif to enjoy it.
Delightful atmosphere, fantastic food and the staff are outstanding. One of the best restaurants in Leicester.
Went with my family and had a wonderful experience. The service here is just wonderful as is the food. They specialize in great fish but have lots of other choices too. The food plus the service made it a great family get together. They answered all of our questions and it’s always good when the staff are willing to make recommendations to help choose between the wonderful things in the menu. Also worth visiting their sister restaurant Boboli, not far away, which we did a couple of days later. Both places are fantastic.
