Newens made a picnic for us, yesterday, and it was superb. We took it to Kew. It included prosecco, water, glasses, Spode crockery, cutlery, sandwiches, a pasty, quiche, geeen beans, potato salad, cakes, scones with clotted cream, jam and bread... oh and the best coronation chicken ever. All in a hamper with a blanket! It was just perfect. The staff were so helpful and friendly and I'm looking forward to eating inside the tea room as well. It's such a beautiful quaint old fashioned place, with attention to detail. For anyone wanting a special treat, or an old English experience, this is the place. Highly recommend.

Old fashioned tea shop. Cakes and pastries are baked in the back kitchen. I had to laugh at a reviewer who said Starbucks cakes were better!! Great coffee. Friendly staff. Coffee choux to die for. Wonderful homemade soup.

Sometimes a historic place like this is full of tourists but is a disappointing experience. Not so here.... Delicious food, generous with the milk and hotwater for tea, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

My friend and I found this beautiful place by chance as we had taken the wrong road down from the Archives to Kew Gardens, so we stopped for coffee and tea cake this morning and after a very long exhausting walk round the gardens we decided to go in there again for refreshment instead of the Kew gardens cafe which is too overpriced . So I would recommend this to anyone, the coffee was lovely and the scones and tea in the afternoon, we will remember this place on our next visit

My husband used to come here years ago. Went back today and he cannot stop praising how amazing and good the food still is after all these years. My food was just perfect, I loved everything and the staff are super friendly too. We definitely will be back again again.

Cute little bakery that serves tea and cakes as well as meals and pies. The staff were so willing to fit us in - we didn’t have a booking and the place was packed. But they were helpful and found us a table outside where we could have our high tea. Their tarts were absolutely delicious and the whole experience was lovely. Definitely worth going back - with a booking for lunch next time!

What a pleasure it is to experience an afternoon tea at this establishment! We went as a family, and I can say the maids of honour were delicious, along with the scones. The setting in the tea room is delightful, a vision into a more sedate time. On a winter's day the fire in the main room is incredibly inviting. If you are in London you should do what you can to head this way. Since it's not that far from Heathrow, perhaps make it the last thing you do before heading on to the airport.

Wonderfully charming. Lovely place for Brunch or Lunch and excellently located near Kew Gardens tube station and main entrance into Kew Gardens. We had a lovely table by the bay window, and ordered the bread basket which came with a selection of pasteries of our choice, sourdough bread and hot freshly made scones. Service wasn’t 100% as it got busier. However, I would definitely go again. Food and tea were excellent. Great to bring family and friends who haven’t been before.

The Original Maids of Honour, was a very nice discovery around the Kew area. Food with that delicious fresh homemade taste. Loved the quiches and service was very good. Thank you very much Nevi, Asya and team for the lovely tea experience. Definitely will come back again and totally recommend it to friends and everyone looking for a nice cup of tea with delicious pastries.

Every time I am around I get a couple of their Maids of Honour tarts, they are so delicious! I also have tried some of the rest of their bakery and it’s really good, especially the passion fruit cheesecake. The staff is always very kind and polite.

Visited Maids of Honour after a long day in the gardens, had such a lovely experience! We ordered the special set taster tea for 2 which was stunning, so much choice but settled on kir royales, salmon & spinach and mushroom quiches, salmon and chicken pies, and (naturally) the taster selection of cakes. So much delicious food - we had to take a lot of it home! Staff were so attentive, such a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

One of the best afternoon teas I've ever had. It was very busy when we went in and thankfully we had prebooked but the staff was efficient at clearing tables, getting us sat as quickly as possible and worked very hard at making our experience great! The cakes; I got carrot cake and my cousin got lemon cake and they had to be the best of each Ive ever had. All in all always a great spot to go to and always take anyone visiting me in London there.

Stayed a few days and enjoyed marvelous hospitality . The breakfast menu is excellent and food served nice and hot and cooked to perfection. Although we're not '' sweet tooths '' the cakes and desserts we did try were exquisite. Their lunch time special roast was always a quality meal. Our accommodation was immaculately clean and very well maintained and above our expectations. A special mention to Aysha ( apologize for the spelling ) who looked after our every need.

Very cute and well run tea room in Kew, just opposite the Garden walls. I have always loved their scones which are baked on site and the variety of teas offered. Really recommended for those who want to experience the traditional British afternoon tea as well as luncheons. They also have an excellent selection of savoury pasties, bakes and quiche available. If you're not loyal to the Cornish or Devon way of spreading...I'd recommend trying it both ways! Worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment, especially at weekends!

I think this place serves the best scones in London. The maids of honour tarts were soft and delicious. Service was a bit slow but the staffs were nice. Price was ok but probably higher compared to other local bakeries.

One of my absolute favourite places in London is a must-visit for its delectable egg tarts! I have lost count of how many times I've indulged in these mouthwatering treats. What sets them apart is their distinctiveness, unlike both the Portuguese and Chinese variations. The tart shell boasts a delightful crispiness, while the creamy and perfectly sweet filling is pure bliss. Don't miss out on their delicious quiche as well. Conveniently located near Kew Garden station, just a short 10-minute walk away, this place is a true gem worth exploring.

Reduced one star in August 2023 due to the unpleasant service experience at reception. ———————————— Love love love! One of the best English afternoon tea I have had in London! We were lucky to take the last round table on that afternoon after visiting the Kew Garden. Staffs were very friendly, either on phone or in person The afternoon tea set was awesome. Savory sandwiches came with various flavors; scones were perfect with the clotted cream and jam; sweets were just right, not too sweet, not too plain We had a set with champagne, and another savory set plus an additional pot of tea to share. It’s a wonderful portion for four. The salmon quiche was one of our favourites! Please do try!

A lovely place to drink a tea or coffee and have a nice fat English breakfast. The whole design and the furniture transfers you to the past. Tasty pastries, nice portions, friendly staff, good prices and everything 5 minutes on foot from the main entrance of the Kew gardens. If you plan to visit the gardens, it might be a good idea to get some strength with the breakfast of this cafe.

We went to have lunch, it was delicious - best pies (chicken and salmon especially) and deserts. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. The decor and history also make it a must see.

Visited for Valentines day with a friend. Decor feels very homely retro/vintage (like your Nan's living room) Staff were friendly, food was good Though they seemed busy. We were there for lunch and our food was slow to arrive, then arrived lukewarm. We asked for gravy despite the menu saying that it came with.
