Every part of our meal at the Glasshouse last weekend was brilliant. The greeting when we entered was welcoming and attentive and this went for the service all the way through. Then the drinks menu was varied, good value and delicious when we'd received our drinks too. Then most importantly, the food was excellent. Our ox cheek and polenta starter was tender, generously glazed and very moorish (though a bigger portion would have been great!); my pork was perfectly cooked, pink, and came with a delicious apple sauce and reduced jus, while my partner's venison, with tiny venison pie looked amazing. Both desserts, a chocolate and hazelnut tart and a poached pineapple with pear sorbet were stunning,a s were the petit fours which accompanied the rich black coffee that we finished with. can't wait to go back!

This was our very first Michelin star restaurant experience. It was a day of memorable meal and great company – a fantastic affair.

The place is quite laid back. The service was outstanding.

Amazing bread selection too. The first batch was freshly out of the oven, and the smell of warm bread just does something to your mood, it’s like a dosage of instant happiness.

We had hare tagliatelle, bouillabaisse, grilled lamb, roast guinea fowl, sorbet, and tarte tatin. Everything tastes fantastic. Beautiful intense flavour.

This place is NOT in Kew Garden, but is within walking distance to it. If you haven’t been to Kew Garden you should go and have a look. I’m not a plants & flowers kind of person, but I really enjoyed the place. And why not visit The Glasshouse for lunch while you’re there – they have special 3 course lunch menu on weekends.

Octopus terrine starter was superb, with tasty cool bites melting in the mouth contrasted with warm clams in a crispy crumb, followed by wild mushroom tagliatelle in a light creamy sauce, accompanied by an earthy, spicy red Sauvignon. Finished by valrhona chocolate cheesecake with a lovely Hungarian tokay. Hubby had a delicious fois gras followed by sea bass with tiger prawns which must have been very tasty as saw him trying to get every last bit of sauce bar licking it! Followed by a light as air cherry clafoutis with passion fruit sauce accompanied by a luscious golden brown Madeira.

On a recent work away job we took the opportunity to visit some outer London restaurants. One of which was The Glasshouse in Kew which holds one Michelin star. It caught my attention with its menu which reads very well. The menu is a set price affair of £42.50 for three courses with supplements for some dishes with premium ingredients. It reminded me of Medlar , a favourite of mine. The star of the starters was the rabbit raviolo with parmesan veloute, tarragon and pickled mushrooms. It surprised me how big it was and I had food envy when I tasted a bit of the dish packed with well matched flavours. Grilled mackerel with oyster tempura, cucumber relish, oyster mayonnaise and ponzu. This was well received although I didn't get to try any. My starter was seared loch duart salmon with mussels, saffron, root vegetables and curried shellfish sauce. I made a rookie error when I realised that the fish was cooked well all the way through as the menu said seared. Probably the least inspiring of

I started with the perfectly made salmon and skate ravioli and my companion went for the smoked eel, a stunning starter full of flavour.

Whenever a restaurant bears the name of Nigel Platts-Martin, you know you will be assured of quality and consistency. With a string of well-known critically acclaimed restaurants, Nigel, a former lawyer turned restaurateur, seems to have that foodie magic

The Glasshouse is what I think I'm supposed to call a "local" or "neighbourhood" restaurant, although exactly why this curious title is applied to some places and not others has never really been explained to me. Surely every restaurant is local to somewh

When Blai's mother came to visit us a few weekends ago, she very kindly took us out to dinner at La Trompette one night. While it was a lovely dinner, we thought many of the dishes lacked that extra creative touch as on our first visit ; they now seemed t

The sister restaurant of chez Bruce in Wandsworth which has very similar style but slightly cheaper. The menu changes from each season but rest assured that everything in the menu will be tasty! I had duck starter which was so nice and they also have great selection of wine. Definitely worth a visit if you're around kew area!

There is nothing over-hyped about this place, it's not somewhere to be seen, it's just everything a good neighbourhood restaurant should be.The food and service were spot on.

I started with the perfectly made salmon and skate ravioli and my companion went for the smoked eel, a stunning starter full of flavour. For main course I had an amazing looking fish dish, it was a crispy baby squid sitting on top of a bed of silver mullet, surrounded by more crispy squid rings and olives. The flavour combinations and texture were perfect, it tasted as beautiful as it looked. My companions main course was more conventional, he went for the delicious daube of beef.

The Glasshouse has a fairly comprehensive cheese board - lots of British cheeses, as well as some French and Spanish ones, so we decided to share a cheese plate. It was matched with multiple glasses of wine. Then for dessert I had some light moist ginger cake with rhubarb ice cream and a sauce that had the lovely intense flavour of ginger beer. My companion had the Rum Baba. The one dessert the sommelier did not match a wine with, being soaked as it was in boozy rum. However as the dessert wine list was extensive (it even included two different PX's), we just had to try more wine. I had a glass of the Ice Cider (my dessert was not an ideal match for this, but I just wanted more of the wine I had tried with the cheese), the sommelier also let me try some of the wine she would have matched with the ginger cake, it was a smooth and subtle wine that complimented the ginger flavours in my dessert beautifully. My companion went for the raisin flavoured PX.

We drank a bit more than planned, but left the restaurant happy and in no doubt that we would return again.

We’ve been here a few times now and this place never fails to deliver incredible food and excellent service! All the staff are really attentive. This time, we came for a birthday celebration and they made sure everything was perfect. It was yet another stunning meal and all our guests loved it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone!

A* service to all staff we encountered for our lunch. Had my 10 month old daughter come to celebrate her grandmothers birthday and the staff were so incredibly attentive and accommodating. It made our lunch feel at ease and a more enjoyable experience, so I really appreciate it. Food was fantastic too. Had truffle pasta as starter. The spiced squash and sweet potato empanadas as a main. Highly recommend and would come back again Thank you again 😊

Such a hidden gem in Kew. Absolutely loved it. Dining experience was so relaxed. Friendly staff. Lots of places you try and never go again despite how nice they were. However this place has that wow factor that would bring me back for each new menu.

Went here for lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was beyond amazing, I had the frois grais with brioche to start which was divine, the pork cheek for main and the chocolate Tarte for desert. Every course was absolutely delicious as was the champagne. I also loved that although every table was occupied, it was a nice relaxed environment. There is also a car park immediately outside which was convenient as we travelled from over an hour away. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. We will definitely be returning again.

Loved it. Couldn't believe it has a Michelin star considering how relaxed it was - nothing pretentious. £70 for a 3 course dinner and reasonably priced wine (from £30 a bottle) seems like good value compared to other Michelin venues 👌
