Really nice little pub. Friendly bar staff, happy atmosphere. It has a quaint olde worlde look, super real fire. Great choice of beers. We had a very filling ploghman's lunch and super tasty beer.
It's a spit and sawdust type of pub but the staff are nice and regulars friendly, beer garden good and cheapest round in town so overall a good thumbs up 👍

Super pub great atmosphere. Wood burner good choice of real ales lagers and spirits. On the Saturday night there was live entertainment too.
Traditional English pub! Went early afternoon as I was waiting for a bus! I really liked the service and the people! Very positive vibe!
Popped in yesterday pm for a jacket potato but nearly plumped for the massive and gorgeous looking ploughmans. I'll do that next time when I have a bigger appetite. Beautiful log fire

Virtually nobody there whenever I go during the week, usually only a couple people in, busy at a weekend though.
Lovely pub, great ales and gin selection. It has maintained its authentic charm but has a modern feel. Roaring fires and good music make it a good place to relax on your way to a night out or a post work tipple. Good atmosphere and I visited after a stomp round town Christmas shopping, for a well

Awesome bar staff, frequent live bands in the garden, and pretty local to the high street, It's a good place to relax and have a good chat with people
The Shire is my local pub and I love it. Proper traditional beers and ciders and a nice log burner to keep you warm. Also Dog friendly which is great for me. If you like live music they also have bands playing most weeks.
Always nice to have a live band playing and they were really good. Most bands they have seem to be really good. Good selection of beers and ciders and nice atmosphere. What's not to like?
Reopened and under new ownership. It used to be a bit rough, but no longer. Now it's an excellent local boozer concentrating on what it does best, which is selling good beer. There's a long row of handpumps with excellent choice. Cider too, sold from casks.
A really good pub for a drink . The people are lovely and the atmosphere is really nice. I would definitely recommend it if you are going for a drink with friends for a good catch up. Although there is only bar snacks so don't go if you are hungry and need a meal.
Best pub around! best manager going! Food is spectacular, drinks are pukka and the atmosphere is perfect, what more could you ask for x
Always a good place to see friends make friends have a drink listen to some music and chill in the garden also try to annoy someone ..

Friendly staff, nice quirky chairs, clean throughout and a lovely atmosphere. I think there is 15 real ales although i'm not a real ale drinker there was a good selection of ciders for me and a couple of lagers..it was my first visit last saturday and really looking forward to going back today 😁🍺🍻
