Beautiful location, with views to die for from the beer garden.
Stopped for a few drinks and something to eat to warm us up from our wet and windy day out at catbells.
Drinks were reasonably priced, as was the food.

Family evening meal. Steak and Ale Pie = delicious. Kids were very happy with their meals. Wild Mushroom & Rocket pizza = very tasty.
Table service was very good. Beautiful old Inn. Highly recommend.
Traditional pub with stunning views, good beer garden. Not a huge selection of beers or local ales which was a little disappointing. However, food was very good.

Went there with a large group and everyone was pleased. Excellent food with surprising choices, not just the boring ordinary menu. Perhaps the only criticism would be that the portions were on the huge side. Nice interior and well behaved guests made this a very nice evening overall.
Went twice for a meal and drinks while on holiday with the guys. Service was quick and cheery, the food and drinks were great and the views were lovely.

Our second time here and it was just as great as the 1st. We arrived a little ahead of check in time and they let us have our room at that point. The food is amazing, be sure to work up an appetite walking the fells as the portions are big! The Swinside is a great base to explore the northern lake
Came in last minute for food after a long hike and we were welcomed and served very quickly, staff is very friendly and service was great. The prices bit high ( its an area thing) but food was so delicious and worth every penny!

Love this place. Wonderful views and nice beer. Let down this time as we booked on a Sunday for 7pm. Sunday menu is restricted as they do a roast. However, all the roasts had gone by this time (apart from veg option) as had 1 of the other options. Therefore not much to choose from. We all found some
