Looking for a dinner spot, we stumbled upon the Skiddaw restaurant. Service was not only quick but also very pleasant. We opted for burgers and were pleasantly surprised; they were some of the best we’ve ever had. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone in search of a great meal

Stayed in the hotel Skiddaw and ate he twice. Everything was to a very high standard. Service was fantastic without being intrusive.
Food was great! The dessert being my favourite, the ‘Dark Chocolate and Peanut Praline’, absolutely delicious! I got the ‘Herdwick Lamb Scott Egg’ for my starter, and although it was very tasty, the portion size is extremely small for something that costs £10.

The hotel is lovely and as just had a refurbishment, making it very light and airy, the staff are wonderful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, a little disappointed to find a new menu though as it seems they've stopped the Afternoon tea, and replaced it with a 'Hikers picnic' the content
I agree completely with previous reviews - a lovely place to stay with delightful staff, smart comfortable room and excellent menu. I will come again if I can still manage the coach ride!
