Visited Keswick for the first time and went and had lunch in the tearooms. The food was lovely and fresh and the staff were very friendly. After lunch we visited the shop to buy cakes and biscuits and even these are delicious. Can't wait to pay another visit to the shop to stock up on the bakery items.
Just got a tuna sandwich and a banoffee pie absolutely amazing! Can't wait to come back here again, everything we've tried from here is beautiful, and staff are so friendly! So if anyone's travelling and not from the area like us we defiantly recommend!!!! xx
I love this shop especially the plumbread.
The only downside is I can never get a table outside (I have a dog) to enjoy a cuppa tea and some toasted plumbread.
This is how popular and lovely Bryson's is. So I pop inside and buy Plumbread, take it home and enjoy it at home :-)
See you soon for my birthday (8th April) and my best buys of the day.
The cakes are pretty yummy too :-)
I do believe your chocolate eclairs could actually be the best in two counties! I am perhaps a conniosseur in Cake City, previously living in Lancashire and now Cumbria and found myself taking a 3 mile stroll today to purchase one (hmm two actually shhhh!) in Kirkby Stephen.
Love their Lakeland plumb bread. In fact a work colleague and I always bring one back if we visit for each other.
Great food and cakes can't wait for next visit
Enjoy a coffee here we every time I visit Keswick.
Located on the bustling High Street, this charming establishment offers a pleasant atmosphere and commendable coffee. The standout item here is undeniably the carrot cake, boasting an exceptional taste. However, while the pastries like the eclair and custard tart are sizable, they don't quite surpass prepackaged shop versions. The lemon dip and fruit tart are enjoyable, though not extraordinary. Prices are fair for the quality provided, and indoor seating is available. Overall, a worthwhile visit for the delightful carrot cake and coffee, but other options may not warrant a return trip.
I took a take out of sandwich, vegetable pasty and cream donut. Sandwich was very tasty. Pasty was bland and lacked the filling. Donut was tasty. Very good value for money; sandwich came at £5.50. Clean toilet available at level 2. Also bought a malted bread loaf to try at home
We popped in for a quick coffee and a teacake. We went and sat upstairs. Upon arrival we were advised that there would be a wait due to staff shortages. We decided to go ahead as we only wanted something small. We certainly did wait, to the point we nearly left. Everything seemed rather disorganised. I did actually feel sorry for the girls working.
Tea cake was lovely though and it was a nice place to pop in to.
I don't know what had gone wrong, but I'd have liked to have though that management would have stepped in to help in such circumstances.
Good marker for a cafe is their cream scones, and Bryson's did not disappoint. Would have pictured the cappuccino but that went down within mere moments. Will definitely return when we inevitably visit Keswick in the future!
Beautiful place. We popped in and had a coffee in the little ground floor cafe area. Served quickly by friendly helpful staff. Coffee was lovely.
Then popped in o. Way back for cakes to take away with us amd they were absolutely divine. Great selection at really good prices. Can highlight recommend the theatre tart and the chocolate muffin. We're we're back in Keswick a few days later and just had to get some more to take back with us. Will make a point to always stop by when we're up in the lakes.
Honestly one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Decided to get up early and head to Keswick for the day and stop off at Bryson's, as we've had food there before. But it was a first having breakfast, so thought we'd give it a try. The gluten-free options are pretty impressive and there is a LOT to choose from, so kudos to Bryson's for that! My mum had the bacon and egg cob, which she enjoyed (the bacon was thick and well-cooked) and I had the Full English Breakfast, and asked for scrambled egg instead of the usual fried eggs, which didn't seem a problem at all to the lovely young lady who served us. Along with our breakfast, mum had a mug of tea and I had an apple juice. The breakfast was lovely and everything was cooked to perfection. The sausages were of great quality and, I imagine, were butchers ones which is great. Was a great way to start the day, very filling and was still full even later on in the day. And everything altogether? Came to a very reasonable £17 and something pence (cannot remember exactly off the top of my head). So if you're looking for a great way to start the day, Bryson's has a fabulous selection to set you up!
Wonderful selection of cakes, and good selection of pies, pasties, sandwiches etc. I had the bacon, brie & red onion toasty and it was really delicious. This like many other restaurants/cafes serves your hot drinks straight away and by the time your meal comes you've either drunk it all or it's gone cold - however when I asked if the could heat up my half drunk oat latte they actually brought me a complete fresh one! It would be so much better though if the drinks were served with the meal in my opinion. Will call in again, before leaving tomorrow to buy some pasties and cakes.
Staff were very friendly indeed 👍
Only popped in to get a cake to takeaway but the staff were very friendly and the place had a lovely display. I ordered the fresh cream Victoria sponge cake which was a very reasonable price for the size of the slice! It was one of the nicest cakes I've tasted, highly recommend!
Lovely traditional Lake District café with a good range of quality pastries and cakes. Also serves breakfast and lunch, while the bakery sells bread and cakes to take home.
Plenty of indoor seating upstairs in the café, and there are a few tables outside if you have a dog.
Prices aren't cheap, but it's not bad value for the centre of a popular tourist town, and service was fine. Gets very busy at lunchtime so you might need to wait a while if you want to eat in.
This was our first visit to Keswick, and we were first attracted to this cafe because of the cake display in the window! When we visited at a busy lunchtime, we were really impressed with our food!
A lovely meal as always with plenty of room at the table to eat. You don't feel squashed against other tables even when the place is busy. The food is always good here. As a family we had lasagne, Cumberland grill (basically an all day breakfast) and a ham and cheese panini with curly chips. For dessert we had apple pie with ice cream and cream and one person had the chocolate brownie. No complaints from any of us about the food or service.
Absolutely wonderful place! Bryson’s is charming and cozy, and does a wonderful full English breakfast for only £13 each. The interior itself is clean, and it was a perfect pick-me-up after a long drive the night before. They even have a lovely bakery downstairs, and I found the staff to be friendly and pleasant. I’d definitely recommend this place!
A fantastic selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. We did not manage to get to the bottom tier of cakes as the first two layers were more than enough.
A very enjoyable spread and would certainly revisit in future.
Visited just for a quick coffee and cake and it was good - really delicious little apple pie and quite generous size of americano for less than other places charge. It was very busy outside but there were some places inside. They also have a lots of in-store made / baked products: artisan breads, cookies, cakes and pies.
Great snacks. Service was quick and staff very friendly. Had a caramel Latte and a Hot chocolate. Victoria sponge was fresh and light.
Lovely food. Although on the day we visited they were terribly under staffed and had to wait a long time
