Absolutely love this place, i visit here at least 3/4 times every 2 months...very friendly staff...good atmosphere and the food is fantastic! I will rate this place 10/10 for taste, presentation, and excellent value for money! Keep up the hard work!
We stopped at this pub to see if they had the moto GP on they didn't but they kindly put this on for us. We ended up staying in the bar all afternoon...it was warm, cosy, immaculately clean had extremely friendly bar staff and the Sunday lunch was just excellent. We visit the lakes often and I can assure you this place will be at the top of our list.....thanks for a lovely afternoon
We had a family meal in here last night and everything was delicious! The steak pie in particular was beautiful. The kids meals were very generous in portion. We will definitely go here again next time we visit Keswick.

Every time we visit Keswick, always pop in the golden Lion for a pint or two great bar staff and their pizza's are Yummy. A must if your in Keswick

We went in to watch rugby yesterday. Friendly staff great atmosphere. Cant comment on food as we didn't eat but what we seen looked lovely
Wow, absolutely b-e-a-utiful.. we ordered 4meals including one kids meal n nobody (even the moany 15yr old) had anything to complain about.. friendly staff nice enviroment, if we didnt live 180miles away then we would pop in more regularly.

Visited a couple of times as part of the weekend here. Nice selection of drinks, a good number of large TVs to watch the sport) and a good number of seats. Seating is nicely cool (especially whilst it's been pretty hot here lately). I didn't eat, but there is a menu for pub classics and what I did see come out of the kitchen looked great.
Found this little gem last weekend. The staff were all so lovey and made my friend and I aware that there could be a bit of a delay due to a large table order before us.
The food was amazing but unfortunately, there was something missed off our order. It was rectified straight away, alongside desserts on the house - nothing seemed to be too much trouble and we were more than happy to wait.
We also had dogs with us and we have been to a number of other pubs where dogs are looked at as an inconvenience but here, they were treated like royalty, which was a nice change!
When I am back over in Keswick, it will definitely be the place for a lunch stop again!
If you're visiting Keswick this is the best place around with a fantastic choice of food and drink. The whole team are amazing and make you and your four legged friends feel very welcomed. The service is impeccable and if your looking to be entertained in an evening they host some fantastic singers/musicians.
We spent last night there celebrating my partners 50th birthday and they went above and beyond to ensure we all had a wonderful evening. It is evident that the team strive for excellence and this is definitely achieved!
Special shout out to Dylan as we couldn't have pulled off the few surprises we had in store without him!

We found this pub on our first night in Keswick. What a gem. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and very organised. Tables were cleared promptly and nothing was too much trouble. The food we ordered was, not only reasonably priced, but it was excellent. Beautifully cooked meat and fish with crispy but wonderfully fluffy chips. We were impressed. So much so we ate there every night for three nights and tried six different dishes between us. All were superb. I would highly recommend the Golden Lion. We will definitely be back.
Great food! Friendly staff. Amazing service by all the staff. Our puppy was treated with a treat and a bowl of water! They also have an amazing menu for people and dogs! Can’t wait to return to this fantastic pub!
Went here on a Saturday night as there was music on would recommend to go early ISH to get a good seat in saying that never waited to be served pub clean atmosphere brilliant nothing but good thing to say will definitely be back thank you all very much
What a difference this pub has undertaken after the extensive refurbishment. CAMRA discount, Blue Light Discount on food 20%, dog friendly, very helpful staff, great choice on menu, well kept real ales, cannot comment on rooms as we are not staying here. One of the best roast beef dinners I've had, and I've had a few ,dog treats at the water station what's not to like, well done Green King Brewery
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, food was very good I had chichen and ham pie it was yummy my parner had the Steak pie also very good. Reasonably priced for the quality. Toilets very clean, would highly recommend
Had a fantastic night in the Golden Lion in Keswick for my 50th Birthday!! Superb atmosphre, live music by Sara was fabulous, the food was great and the staff & service are just brilliant!!! Dog friendly as well, and sport if thats what you want. Highly advise if in Keswick, get to the Golden Lion👍
Best bar in Keswick by miles. The service is great, atmosphere is friendly to all and the beer and food are out of this world. The landlord, Dylan, was really friendly, very knowledgeable and has a lovely smile!
Chosen dish , Chicken Katsu curry and chips ,both myself and my partner had the same dish which we both enjoyed very much .

We followed the sound of music to the Golden Lion where we found a live band was playing. The pub was absolutely packed, we got served very quickly and after a while managed to get a seat the band was really good and the atmosphere was great. What a great end to our evening.
Went as a family with a 9 month old baby and the service was great, sorting us with a high chair! Food was brilliant, the pies are top class! Great location in middle of town. Highly recommend.
The bar is always busy but we are always able to find somewhere to sit. The bar service is great. There is a good selection of beers.
We were at the Lakes - Keswick for the day as a family of 7 for a special day as well as going out for food we came across this bar and straight away we went in and were made to feel welcome by the staff we then ordered our food from the menu which has a variety to choose from most of us went for the Sunday dinners a few had other things, all the food was really tasty and lovely, we then all had puddings which were equally amazing. I would definitely be coming back to this pub when I am next in Keswick as food was lovely and the staff were very welcoming, friendly at all times. Thanks Emma from Newcastle.
We at here today for lunch. The pub inside is very nice and cosy with a great atmosphere and dog friendly. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Marked down as i felt the food was fairly bland and the portion sizes for the prices not justifiable. i.e A portion of chips has about 15 chips per portion.
