Outstanding food. I had the Sunday roast but asked if I could swop the roast potatoes for boiled one, no problem with the request. My husband had the lamb shank, it just fails off the bone. I would highly recommend the Pack Horse for food , drink and the overall atmosphere. We think it’s the best pub in Keswick and this is why we always go back. Great job guys, 5 stars from me and my husband. We live in Carlisle so it’s only a trip down the motor way. Thank you for the fantastic service.

Always a regular food stop for myself and friends whether it be a day trip to the lakes or a long weekend. Food is always fantastic and hearty, staff are polite and welcoming and being a dog friendly pub is always a note with me.

Visited with a large group of friends post-ghyll scrambling. Food was tasty and very reasonably priced (I had steak pudding with veggies which was about £10). Great atmosphere and the staff were lovely.

I rang at 6pm to book a table for 5 of us for 7.15. We had a great time and the food was lovely. We'd gone for the quiz (which was meant to start at 9.30. At 10.00 we were still waiting for the quiz sheets. So we decided to leave. It was far too late to start a quiz. For some reason it was running late. A bit annoying as we were really looking forward to it.

After a 10 mile hike around Derwent water we stopped off for a well earned lunch. Warm baguettes, hot crunchy chips and cold beer! Just lovely!

Had a delicious lunch at this pub while on a visit to Keswick on market day. It's right in the centre of town, hidden away in a little courtyard just off the busy main street. Dating from the 17th century, this former coaching inn still looks very olde-worlde inside, with its wooden beams and panelling, old stone fireplace, and some nice pictures of Lakeland scenery on the walls. There's a spacious bar area, cosy nooks, and upstairs dining areas on two levels. A large and well stocked bar with a good choice of ales. Clean and accessible downstairs toilet. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was served quickly, and the server came back during my meal to ask me how it was. I could not fault the food at all! There was so much to choose from on the daytime menu, from sandwiches to traditional pub favourites and a few more adventurous dishes. Some good options for vegetarians, and there was a cheaper early bird menu and a children's menu. I had the chargrilled chicken breast topped with haggis and black pudding, in a piquant peppercorn sauce, served with chunky chips and mixed veg. The meal was hot, well cooked, generous portions and very flavoursome! The chicken was really tender. Nice glass of Merlot too. Not a cheap lunch, but it was worth every penny! Would definitely come here again.

Staff where friendly, didn't order any food but noticed the food looked amazing. Pub was fairly quiet but where playing good music didn't have buzz of some of the other pubs but one of the reasons I went in was it looked quiter.

Pleasant local pub serving quality beers and food. Dog friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed lunch during a recent visit on market day.I had the fish and chips cooked in beer batter, lovely, if slightly expensive, but worth a try if you are in the area 👍

One of many great pubs in keswick. Can be a little quieter than other pubs due to being hidden off the main part of town but is well worth a visit. The two bar staff on Tuesday evening were very friendly and we caught them dancing behind the bar as we walked in, very funny.😄 Returned here again some 8 months later, the pub was quite a lot busier than before which makes the pub even better.

Unfortunately there are not enough stars on this review to credit this venue for the quality of their beef Sunday dinner. For me, it's the very best I've had that I can ever remember. Food quality and quantity certainly hut the spot, the staff were extremely attentive. Robinson's brewery, this should be your benchmark, hats off to the Pack Horse.

We called in on the off chance that they were still doing Sunday dinner. We just caught last settings. One of the kids wanted chicken, but there wasn't any left. The kitchen staff went and got a chicken fillet and cooked it for him. Our lass got the last beef dinner. The beef was really tender. I had the pork. It was absolutely delicious. The whole dinner was excellent. Only downfall was it needed more gravy. We had to ask for more. But don't take that away to how nice the dinner was. The pub is set back off the high street, so it was pure luck we found it. But would definitely go back. I don't often give 5 stars. But this deserves it. Ps, the fish and chips looked really nice.

The Pack Horse Inn is a wonderful place to eat, drink and even get merry (if that is your want). A great selection of beers, ales, wines and Spirits and a menu with something on it for all tastes. Food and drink prices are average with most main meals costing between £14 and £18 pounds. The food is very good and portions are more than enough to satisfy your hunger. The Moroccan Tagine with Goats Cheese is amazing (although was on as a specail during our visit).

Nice olde world pub, nice enough selection of beer. Food was excellent if you like proper unpretentious home made pub grub, my beef and ale pie and chips was very enjoyable however the only reason I dropped a star is because it could have been hotter. Service at the bar was ok service of the food was very good hence another 4 star. In conclusion we would return and we would recommend.

Lovely establishment, old pub, with fab meals, have been there before. We had the chargrilled chicken breast with haggis, black pudding with peppercorn sauce. Choice of chips or mash, veg or salad, made a filling and tasty meal. Will happily go there again when we next visit.

Lovely cozy pub down one of the alleys off the main street in Keswick. Very clean, warm & inviting. The ale I had was nice & fruity & I had something from the early bird menu (12-2.30pm), which is quite a bit cheaper than during normal dining times. The battered chicken burger was delicious & the chips (fries for our US cousins) I think were triple cooked. Probably the best chips I've ever had. There's a restaurant upstairs, split onto two open floors but I can't comment on the food served there as I didn't have any. Staff were really nice. Over all a very good place to have a bite & a pint if you're in Keswick.

I had a great time there while I was travelling around England, I stayed a couple times there for beer, diner and writing : the team is super nice, the beer is fresh and good (and there's enough choice for everyone). The fish and chips is a KILLER, and the decor warms the place up. Will definitelly return if I am to go back to Keswick. Cheers from the Dizzy Blonde !

Excellent service and over all experience. Drinks and food very reasonable prices and pub was busy every day. We had lunch and it was for sure worth the full 5 stars if not more. Place was clean and still fighting against covid spread.
