Fantastic meal. I had pork medalians in cream sauce, hubby had seafood risotto. Mine was delicious, however the amount of seafood in the risotto was the most I’ve ever seen! We both cleared our plates. The service was very good, the waiter apologised for our wait, it wasn’t that long, but it was well worth it. Will definitely go again.
A great welcome and great service. The guy who served us even offered Alison the next day's choice of soup because she didn't like the soup of the day. The food all round was first class and my steak was cooked to perfection! He even gave me a small pad and pen so I could write down ingredients to a particular cocktail, which was perfect when he had made it! If you are looking for a place to eat in Keswick, with top quality food that's great value for money and exceptional service then go and eat at the Lakes! Could not fault it at all!
great friendly and professional staff, whether you pop in for a drink or a meal you will enjoy this place
Second family meal here and fantastic once again.....definitely our favourite place for a family meal in Keswick 👍🏻
The food was excellent, the staff very attentive and cheerful. Even though the restaurant was busy, nothing was too much trouble, highly recommended, booking at weekends a must.
Fantastic food, good beer, friendly and prompt service - will definitely be going back
What a lovely place. Top quality food and excellent 1st class service. Plan to go back in a couple of weeks.
This place is fabulous real ales are amazing and the food is some the best I have ever tasted, specials boards I would always recommend providing they have any left of course.
Beers are fantastic. Best mulled wine I have ever had too.
Called in for a coffee and cake and I have to say both were perfect! The cake was absolutely delicious
We walked in as a last minute find and it turned out to be ace!! We really rated it. Portion sizes were excellent, I had the club sandwich, see below! The misses also recommended the goat cheese and pepper ciabatta. Dead friendly service as well
Our only complaint is I had no room for desert. Book ahead tho' as we saw several people turned away. Food and service was excellent. Portions very generous. We had kids Sunday lunch, beef top notch; fish and chips (connoisseur daughter said very good); Lamb Tagine was excellent as was the risotto. Will be going back I'm sure. Ps we even had time for one game of uno flip between ordering and eating.
I had the Cumbrian Breakfast and my god was it good for value for money (see the pic). The food was good but I did struggle to finish it. Looking for a place for breakfast/brunch? Then try here!
Lovely tender roast leg of lamb served with vegetables and and pint of Jennings Cumberland Ale. One of the best roast lamb meals in Keswick.
Good hearty food, a good range of draft beers all served with cheery Cumberland hospitality. Very nice.
Great chilled cafe bar. Dog friendly. Really friendly service.
Food was good. I had the Cumberland sausage ciabatta, very nice. Good size portions.
Good food, good service. Nice varied menu including lamb tagine, beef bourguignon, lamb shanks, pizza, Thai veg curry, halloumi burgers etc. And all reasonably priced. Make sure you book so your not disappointed.
Like many of the best places that you've eaten at, we happen on this by chance. My in-laws popped in for a drink whilst waiting for us and I spotted Seafood Risotto as a special - so booked for the evening.
The surroundings are smart and tasteful, but gave no hint at how tasty the food is here. We're in Keswick for three nights and will have eaten here for two of them, so you can see it has our vote!
Proper grub here! The fish pie I had was gorgeous, pal had the Roast beef dinner (Sunday roast on a Monday 👍👍👍)
Very lovely place with friendly staff. We Poped in with our doggie on the rainy day and had nice time.
Went there for an evening meal, I had the meat lovers pizza, which was chock full of various meats, no skimping that's for sure. The service was super friendly and welcoming. Would have no problem recommending this place for dinner. They have a varied menu, my companion had meat pie and veg which she was very complimentary about. Very reasonably priced too.
Fantastic food. Great coffee and brilliant service.nice and clean ! Great experience
We were able to walk in and get a table at 9:30pm which is pretty late and most places close at 9pm. So it was wonderful when we were welcomed by the owner with a smile. He was delightful and they (a lady too) were very welcoming. The food was delicious! Very tasteful and cooked to perfection. Would recommend the lamb 👌🏼 thank you for being so hospitable! Wishing you the very best.
We popped in on a very busy Saturday night having wandered around Keswick in the rain like zombies in a disaster movie looking for somewhere to eat. Fortunately they'd had a last minute cancellation and we got a table. We had excellent service from Joanne who was friendly and attentive. Two of us had pizzas which were delicious. Overall the food and service was excellent and we'd definitely come back.
Perfect meal! Steak was one of the best I've had and perfectly cooked, lamb shoulder was also super tasty good size portions and good pricing, lovely atmosphere, great service! And dogs allowed 😁
Food was good reasonably priced for food and drink. Staff were friendly.
Day trip to Keswick and we had reserved a table for lunch. Best decision of the day. A fantastic bistro. Service is excellent and welcoming. Decor is very nice and the food is absolutely delicious!! Highly recommended by me are the scallops, the beef bourguignon and steak pie. If you don't visit here while in Keswick ... well ... it's your own fault.
Had to sit outside with the dog but a really friendly lady served us today. Bacon and egg sandwiches were lovely and so was the veggie stick sandwich. Cappuccino really good.
Even let us borrow a disc for parking as the machine was empty.
Would go back for food if in the area again.
