Best pub ever!!!! You will meet the whole life’s worth of dogs in here. Perfect for dog lovers. Food was so good! The steak was cooked for medium rare and it delivered! The chips were made freshly, so creamy. Huge cod, thinly wrapped in batter. Tried the local gin from Grasmere, so good! Nothing lik
Such a lovely little pub, great selection of drinks. Atmosphere was very comfortable. Extra points for the Doctor Who quote, many respect for anyone that does that!
Outstanding pub! What a find this was. Local ales and plenty to choose from. Dog friendly and easy to get to. The staff are wonderful and chatty with a great sense of humour. The food was phenomenal!!! Had the steak and ale pie which was just melt in the mouth. Husband has the burger and was super t
Independently owned with up to 7 Cumbrian cask ales pouring plus another two from further afield. 10% discount for CAMRA members if you remember to ask. Plenty of AW memorabilia on the walls if interested?
Great pub with a super collection of real ales, sadly didn’t have time to sample them all. Called for lunch as well and sampled their fish finger baguette - absolutely delicious!
One of, if not the best pubs in Keswick. Great beers with three regulars and four or more ever changing ones. Food is excellent as well, though as it gets busy getting a table can be a challenge - though you can always get another great beer whilst waiting. Highly recommended.
My wife and I dined and had drinks recently in The Wainwright. To say we were impressed is an understatement, the meals were delicious, with generous portions and the Real Ale superb. On every visit to Keswick this is where we will be heading.. almost forgot to mention, very good polite staff too. C
Great real ale pub justifies its place in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Must visit if you like your beer. Comfortable and welcoming. Ic and Flic love it. Best real ale selection in Keswick. Super food.
Real beer, great food, lovely ambiance. There are always a good range of well kept beers on tap including some local ones. We went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed burgers and the sour dough baguettes. You wait a little for the food but that’s because it’s cooked fresh and is well worth the wait. Th
We always make a point of visiting this pub when in Keswick. Normally, it's a good choice of ales and the food is brilliant. This time, I had the Cumberland sausage with Mash, and the gravy was awesome.
