Had these up and down the country never disappointed. Although if you suffer from reflux like me. Don’t be a pig and let the pastry cool down before eating them. Service with a smile.
Excellent service, they were incredibly pleasant people. Food was equally excellent, and I will be sure to visit again very soon!!
Bought a quick bite to eat from this place and was very happy with how fresh everything was and how friendly the staff were.
We were gutted that due to COVID-19 rules and regulations we couldn’t taste more items on the menu as they were very limited but even so anything we could purchase was delicious.
Definitely a place to visit while in Keswick.
The best Cornish pasty in the area!
Personally, a visit to the lakes is not complete without a pasty and sausage roll from here. We always buy a few & have them part way round a walk. Taste just as good cold as warm. Their pork and apple pasty is the best!
really friendly staff, efficient service and a decent price. No place to sit inside but why sit inside when you can have a pasty with a view somewhere else!
Lovely pasty. I got the Large Cornish and my mate got the veggie. They were both lovely. The lady behind the till was very friendly. Definitely recommend if in the area.
The pasties were very nice from here, came warm and in recyclable bags. We opted for the Steak and Ale and the Pork and Apple. They were both very nice, £4 each. The servers were very friendly as-well, shame there wasn’t more seating area outside as it is on a beautiful street.
Went in Cornish Pasty to have Chicken, Chronzio and Cheese flavour to take away and eat it. Taste is so fresh like homemade and taste perfect right.
10/10
It’s getting 4stars strictly based on the food, women doesn’t get off the phone while speaking and isn’t very welcoming
Onion bhaji and cauliflower is The most tasty I have ever tasty, pastry is gorgeous and crisp and the very ample filling is sooooo tasty. The shop is in a beautiful lication, servers so friendly and shop is clean and well presented. Thankyou x
Picked up a couple of traditional pasties. Had lowish expectations (pasty place in a tourist town?), but delighted to find that they were up there with the best we’ve ever had. Keswick prices, but they do make the effort to provide a good product. Nice balance of meat and veg. Good quality tender meat, with no gristle. Some have said that these are all potato and pastry. I can only say that a) trad. pasties are more about veg than meat and b) ours had more meat than most.
Lovely flavour. Pastry was traditional rather than puff (good). Possibly very slightly on the tough side (not sure they were fresh today). Lived up to their purpose also by staying warm up to our summit wrapped only in paper and a carrier bag (ours - reusable :-) )
Keswick is where my heart is. My stomach? This shop of course! Makes my visits to Keswick all the more joyful. The lamb & mint pasty is to die for!
There's definitely a bit of a problem with the reviews here as there are two Cornish Pasty bakeries within 20 seconds of each other.
I can't speak for the Cornish Bakery (the one with the seating area) but The Cornish Pasty (the tiny one with just a counter next door to the fudge shop) is very good. The Cornish Pasties are huge, tasty, packed full of delicious fillings and great quality. Probably the best Cornish Pasty I've had in the UK.
Great pasties and Scotch egg. My missus and I visiting from London enjoyed our food very much. Not sure why people complain about prices. Supporting independent businesses is what makes the world go around. If you want cheap mass produce goop then you’re a mindless fluoridated zombie.
I’m no stranger to paying for better quality food and good service which is provided at The Cornish Pasty.
We also loved the fact that CASH is king in this store. We are heading toward a cashless society and we need to fight back. Cash businesses are the last bastion of freedom. Cash is legal tender and it must go on! ♥️
The Cornish Pasty is consistently excellent and has been for years.
Lots of the recent negative reviews (and accompanying photos) are actually for the relatively recently opened 'The Cornish Bakery' just round the corner. If you look at the bags in the pictures of pasties with very little filling in, for instance, they clearly say The Cornish Bakery on them. Equally, all the complaints about the service and people sitting down are for the other cafe - The Cornish Pasty has no seating and never has done.
Fellow reviewers - please try and select the correct shop before reviewing.
Splendid bakery. Wide choice of pastry's including vegan, vegetarian and meat options. I don't know what it was we ordered for a pastry but it was divine and I wish I had one now!
Friendly staff
Amazing service, friendliest people I ever met in customer service. Didn’t ask for names, but red head who served me was extremely nice. Food was lovely and couldn’t have asked for a better time, bought a second coffee for take away because it was so nice
