Had thee most delightful time at this beautiful hotel. I can't thank all the staff enough for their hard work and making our stay the best. We had a lovely bedroom upstairs in the cottage behind the hotel which was perfect for our stay with two dogs. Very comfortable and clean. I do wish I had opted for a downstairs with a shower but the double with bath was my choice when booking. The food was tremendous a full English every morning and even when we asked to change a couple of things it was no problem. Varied menu at night and every meal we had was delicious. If I had to gripe about anything I would wish the dinning room for doggie guests was slightly bigger I felt staff were having to watch their feet all the time with doggies lying about in the morning. All in all a perfect few days and very reasonable! Will definitely stay again and would not hesitate to recommend this place.
This is a great place to be. I've never stopped here but it has a special emotional attachment for me. My grandad owned the cottage next door when I was a young boy and it brings back memories of him and good times. Whenever I'm in the area I come and visit. The staff are friendly and efficient and the service is fantastic. I may be biased but I would recommend it.
Love coming here + one day might get to sleep over! We usually park up go for a walk through the garden + along to the path, around Derwent water lake then back for lunch. Added bonus you can bring dogs into the bar which I think is the cosiest room with a snug log fire. Beautifully cooked food + they can accommodate me being gluten free. The strawberry ice cream is to die for but my husband should really get his own!!xx
Stopped of or tea, having been round Derwentwater on the launch and Keswick was grid locked. Very impressed with the place, dog friendly, the food was excellent, staff friendly, we had our food in one of the 2 wooden pods over looking the lake and hills very nice and a bit different. Had a walk to the lake afterwards to take in the views. A good option for lunch would be getting the launch to the hotel form Keswick then getting a later boat back.
My Husband surprised me for our Wedding Anniversary for a 2 night break twixtmas. The food was amazing , staff were faultless and our room had a spectacular view....we will return for sure
Just home from another great stay. As always fantastic food fantastic staff fantastic beer, wine and walking See you all again soon x
What a lovely relaxing place to stay, fantastic spot, lovely staff, and no hint off corporate commercialism which has ruined many of the hotels i used to stay in nearby. Spotlessly clean and very pet friendly, with the most amazing views. Enjoyed the food and will definatley return.
This place is a gem! The staff are really friendly, good is amazing and the view is spectacular! Couldn't ask for more... we will return again soon ☺️
We have eaten lunch here a few times and enjoyed it so we treated ourselves to a weekend b and b. Our room was lovely, the staff friendly and helpful and the food very good. Can,t wait to go again..
My favourite place. Quiet magic here. No nonsense service by friendly and efficient staff. A charmer and place I always try to get back to when visiting the Lakes. Check it out.
Fantastic place our friend has reserved us tables now 2yrs on the run august bank holiday for our little get together we get the launch then head off for the walk to the Mary Mount when we arrive our tables are alway ready for us , the staff very quick and efficient, the food is fantastic great choice on the menu .
We love it a superb hotel n restaurant
Last minute booking. Room 39. What a view. Apart from the creaky bed it was worth every penny. Definately go back and i highly recommend.
Very clean rooms, very friendly staff, great location, and very dog friendly and our dogs got fussed over a lot! Food was fabulous, and just all around excellent value for money.
Would definitely would stay there again.
Stayed here for a long weekend recently and it was fantastic. Staff are all so friendly and helpful - an absolute credit to whoever trains/guides them all.
The hotel itself is ideally situated for walks and has it's own jetty area, with regular ferry trips to Keswick.
The food is excellent too. We had breakfast included, but decided to have an evening meal on couple of occasions and both times were delicious. Large portions and all freshly cooked, also reasonably priced.
Highly recommend a stay here, if visiting the lakes.
We have just had a 5 night - Half board stay at the Mary Mount - fabulous stay as usual, rooms are perfect , spacious and very comfortable.
All meals , bar service and staff brilliant. The menu is great home cooked food, puddings are to die for! The staff are so helpful, friendly and approachable.
Great location for many walks - once our car was parked we literally walked to where we needed to be - but there is also a bus from a few yards from the hotel.
We will definitely stay here again.
Beautiful hotel in a great location right on the lake side . Bus stops just outside , you can cross a bridge at the end of the gardens to catch the lake cruise. Lots of walking trails from the hotel and only a few miles to the centre of keswick. Great little pub inside and lovely staff and breakfast
The Mary mount hotel is at a perfect location around Derwentwater, close to a lot of hiking routes and bus links.
Room was big and clean. The bed was so comfortable that it was hard to get up in the morning. The restaurant serves really good food with a decent vegan/vegetarian selection. Staff is friendly and ready to go out of their way to accommodate you.
We plan to come back for our next trip to the Lake District! 😊
Provided a much needed & appreciated pit stop during a walk round the lake. The food was delicious with very generous portions & we were able to eat amidst a stunning backdrop. The only minor downside is that the drinks weren't great - the pepsi/coke was completely flat and warm
Just home from a 2 night stay.
Fabulous room, newly refurbished 3 weeks ago… very clean. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you Scott and the team. A much needed break, and the views from the restaurant were very relaxing.
We will be back for another visit.
Lovely very dog friendly hotel - stayed in bungalow annexe which great to nip out on garden if needed in night with dog. Bedrooms very clean.
Mum stayed in room in hotel, it had lovely views over fells and lake.
Breakfast was great with sausages for dogs!
Dinner at night bit pricey but portions were huge so we had starters and pudding.
Nice cosy bar - staff all lovely.
Will definately be returning.
Me and my partner came this weekend just gone, for 2 nights, we stopped in room 1. We had a great time! The staff were amazing! They went above and beyond for us, very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, food was lovely. We enjoyed eating in the main restaurant and then going to the bar area afterwards in front of the open fire for a few drinks. Great area for walks and stunning views of the lake. We will be back again I am sure.
Stopped there for lunch. Good lunchtime menu, typical sandwichs and soup menu. Good selection on menu, Nice tasty meal, no complaints at all. Nice friendly staff. Would recommend.
Only negative, price for drinks £28 for 3 glasses of wine.
Stayed here one night in a dog friendly room.
The location of this hotel is perfect, the views are unbelievable and the hotel literally backs onto Derwent Water so loads of walks on the door step.
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly, however the room was relatively small (considering it was a dog friendly room - would not advise bringing a big dog)
The only negative would be the food, the prices were quite high and the food itself wasn’t very tasty however definitely tolerable.
We would return here and can imagine in the summer months it would be even better.
This was such a great hotel! The rooms and whole feel of the hotel sat in the Derwentwater setting perfectly. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Car parking was easy and spacious. Views were amazing. Room was always clean and tidy. Breakfast was filling and of great quality, dinner was very well prepared and fresh. Can’t thank the hotel enough for making our stay amazing!! We will be back
Had a wonderful weekend here it's in a fabulous location with beautiful views. The rooms are basic but very clean. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant, the chicken stuffed with black pudding was cold and dry, and the fondant sweet potato was very undercooked and hard, but the steak and ale pie was delicious so maybe a little hit and miss in the restaurant. The breakfast is second to none it was truly delicious. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We paid £140 per night, which is slightly high, but as I said, it is in a beautiful setting and worth a visit.
We stayed 2 nights in a Standard Double Room with breakfast included for a good price. The room was a decent size with a lovely view of Derwentwater and Catbells.
This is a dog friendly hotel but unfortunately our neighboughs were not able to keep there pet at bay an woke us several times during the night.
The staff are friendly and attentive.
The food and service here is excellent but I would say it is very over priced.
The wifi is abysmal an regularly cuts out! There is no phone service in this area but if you're looking to disconnect for a few days then maybe this is ideal for you.
Apart from the slight negatives I would stay here again for the location.
We had a brilliant stay. The hotel is beautifully located in the Borrowdale valley right on the shores of Derwent Water. Super evening meal and breakfast and a great room with stunning mountain views. Look forward to staying again one day.
Stopped for Sunday lunch whilst on a flying visit to Keswick, the food was lovely, I guess my only moan would be that it was £25 for Sunday lunch, which equated to a small lamb shank, 2 roast potatoes, 2 roasted carrots, 2 roasted parsnips, some red cabbage and a Yorkshire pudding (spelt yourshire pudding). I just think it was overpriced.
Lovely hotel. Very friendly staff who were polite and accommodating. Relaxed atmosphere. Food ample and very tasty. Rooms clean and comfortable. Looking to stay again.
