A really lovely evening! Pre warning: you will come away smelling like smoke/bonfire! But the food is totally worth it. Everything was cooked beautifully and had so much flavour. Was brilliant being able to watch your food being cooked/prepared right in front of you. It’s bring your own drinks so we took a cool box of drinks and served ourselves. Dog friendly too, as long as on leads. A great family run evening! Keep an eye on their social media page to see what the menu will be for when you book to go as they change it up regularly!

Easily one of the best dining experience that we have had. A beautiful setting surrounded by the English countryside, roaring fires and twinkling lights, all while smelling the beautiful food being cooked right in front of you. It was a birthday meal out for my Dad and he was over the moon to be going, and under the nut tree didn’t disappoint at all. We can’t thank you enough for your delicious food, hospitality and friendliness throughout the night. We will definitely be returning again. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you x

Would you play £50 per person to sit outside in a Herefordshire field ?
If not - read no further
After a long journey we arrived (navigating the usual mobile phone signal ‘Not Spots’) you can stick 5g where it hurts because I would be happy with a constant 2G in the countryside of the UK (as a ‘G’ sacrifice) the mobile phone operators don’t have a clue what people want, ‘A Signal’ would be nice !
We car parked up in the apple orchard just in time for a bit of very late summer sun, then walked the 10 yards to the eating event where the smell of open fire cooked food could be inhaled by the cubic metre.
A whole pig was on offer tonight (cooked over the wood embers for previous 24 hours ‘plus’, by ‘indirect heat’ (ask John Terode about it)
Droves of guests appeared within a short period of time and settled down at their respective tables, if you want fine dining with white table cloths don’t come here ( please )
Take your own drink, what could be nicer !
But if you are after an outdoor eating experience with your friends, and be around people who like people, who like food , who like being somewhere a little different, then you have arrived at the right place.
After dinner, sit around a fire pit and go home smelling like a kipper, bliss.
The establishment owners have an interesting story to tell, but try not to interrupt their cooking, because I’m hungry.
Have a lovely time and remember to switch off your mobile phone (because there’s no signal anyway 🤣😂😅)
Just another wonderful dining experience. A very special location with superb friendly staff, a great menu and wonderful food. This is a unique setting and dinning location that just works perfectly.

I have been living in the united kingdom for 3 years, and I have never found a restaurant with such a unique atmosphere, amazing food, and welcoming staff.
Beyond being immersed in the beautiful welsh countryside, carolina and simone (the owners) were able to create a warm and joyful atmosphere. The tables were placed under a nut tree and around the barn were the preparation of food took place; the huge barbecue were the meat was prepared was fantastic for both the smell and the sight of the succulent meat and potatoes being prepared.
Nonetheless, what I really felt made the difference beyond the outstanding location and dishes, was the authenticity and friendliness of the people in charge of the restaurant. It almost felt like you were at a friend's party, everyone was just in such a good mood and truly enjoyed being there. The hosts would come and have a small chat with you to ensure everything was going well but also to learn a bit more about the guests they were having.
I truly recommend this place to anyone that wants to experience something a little different and unique. I will 100% come back.
We’d been meaning to visit Under The Nut Tree for a while. A rare night with childcare led to a last minute reservation. Booking was straightforward and quick over messenger.
The atmosphere, setting, scenery and food are all exceptional. The team are friendly, attentive and welcoming. The food cooking on the open fire as you arrive. The beautiful black lab not moving far from the meat juices dripping on the floor!
We had the most delicious smoked polenta starter, pork main - the cracking was amazing - and chocolate desert.
As the night drew in, the festoon lights lit up, the fire pits were prepped, creating the most lovely atmosphere.
I’d highly recommend Under The Nut Tree and will definitely be returning.
