This small indipendente bakery is real hidden-gem in the outskirts of Oxford.
Placed in an industrial area, not particularly fancy, the Proof Social Bakery will surprise you with a wider range a mouthwatering crafted pastries.
The staff, extremely kind and friendly, is part of a social project which aims to re-introduce ex-convicted.
Very friendly staff. Good coffee and a wide variety of tasty pastries. Not many seats available and could be crowded during lunch and coffee time. It is situated in a small industrial site and Parking could be tricky during weekdays when factories in the nearby are in operation.
Delicious baked goods and a business that backs a good cause! If I lived still lived in Oxford I would be a regular every weekend.
There are also some lovely walks around the area so you can do some exploring before/after fueling up.
The only thing is, I recommend getting there early (before 10am) as it can get busy although we still managed to find a table! The staff were also lovely despite it being super busy.
We were on a long cycle ride heading to Oxford. I had already researched this location for a stop off. We were not disappointed. At first we might have got the address wrong as it is not signposted off the main road. Lovely friendly staff and what a great selection of cakes. We arrived around 1400 so some of the breads had sold out (good sign). I really like the rhubarb crumble cake - good to see something different. Just as well I had a pannier as I came away several purchases. Would come again.
Love this place! Their baked goods are delicious (the cinnamon bun is honestly the best!) and the staff are always really friendly. You can see everything being baked in the open kitchen which is cool. Love that it's a social enterprise too. Get there early in the day so you're no disappointed - their baked goods fly off the shelves!
Quite hidden away place near some warehouses but nice atmosphere inside!!
You can see the cookies being baked as you have your goods
Proof is excellent. The staff are friendly, the food is good quality and has regular rotations and specials. The bread is lovely and I always get a loaf.
I have taken one star off because they have been over-baking the pastries recently. They have been baked very dark. Whilst darker baked foods will often have more flavour, it has led to some items becoming drier than they should be (e.g. the almond croissants, which are twice baked).
Delectable pastries, fun atmosphere and great coffee - what’s not to love.
I don’t think I have had a juicier more flavourful sausage roll in my life!
Simply the BEST almond croissants. Lovely space, super friendly and always great to chat to the guys baking up magic. Favourite spot in town.
The pastries here really are delicious. There's a decent vegan range too which is always appreciated. Oh, and the bread loaves are 10/10! And the coffee! Everything's really good honestly, and the staff are hardworking and friendly.
Be aware there are no children allowed due to landlord's specification (not proof social's choice). We brought some pastries back for our friend's little ones and they loved them.
