I’ve walked into Al Talif without great expectations and I actually had an amazing food and cultural experience. I wanted to go off-the-beaten track and trying something different from the normal Indian cuisine dishes. I’ve ordered a Lamb Shaktora with garlic naan, which is a traditional dish from Bangladesh. The food was incredibly rich, spicy but very well balanced with the bitterness of the citrus after taste. The place is very cozy and staff very welcoming and happy to share a talk with you. Define my worth to stop by and dip into the Bangladeshi cuisine.

Very nice food, I had a chicken Korma, which was amazing. The food was fresh, hot and well presented. Also had some poppadoms plain and spicy with all the fresh dips. Was later evening time so was quiet, but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to everyone.

We love Al Taif and get takeaway quite often from there. The team is friendly and the food is great! Lots of vegetarian options and meat eater options alike. Their naan breads are fantastic too!

We were spending a weekend in Oxford when we decided we both fancied a curry. We found this little place, and boy was the food good. Family run business and the lady who looked after us was very pleasant. Food not expensive and the portions are very generous. Keep up the great work Jon,

Had our first takeaway last night. Have been meaning to try this Restaurant for ages. Pleased we did. Food was delivered in a reasonable time. Was still hot ( other local restaurants seem unable to accomplish this feat). Generous portion sizes. Food was delicious. We would now reccomend to to friends and family.

As a Brummie this has got to be the best curry I have had since coming to the area. The service was friendly and welcoming, the food is awesome. I believe it's a husband and wife team and the service is so attentive. Will definitely be returning. What I love about it is the lack of decor, in Birmingham this only means one thing...... brilliant dining experience. Give it a try!

Lovely place that we found by accident whilst driving through to get to Yorkshire. The food is gorgeous; fresh ingredients, plenty of flavour and very tasty. The owners were also a delight - welcoming, very friendly and excellent service. We will definitely come back

Just enjoyed a delicious meal at the Al-Taif in Kennington, Oxford. The food is always outstanding; full of flavour, the meat is beautifully tender, the veg dishes are cooked to perfection too. The staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing being too much trouble. Eat in or take-away, the food is lovely and very reasonably priced. Our favourite Indian restaurant!!! If you’re looking for somewhere new, try the Al-Taif. You won’t be disappointed.

Delicious food and great service. We ordered a takeaway from AL-TAIF as we’ve recently moved to Kennington and wanted to check out the local takeaway restaurants. The service was great from the start - easy to order online. Prices seemed a little too cheap to be honest - cannot believe the value for money! We phoned to confirm delivery and they said they’d call us back when it was about 5 mins away (which they did) so that we could walk over to collect. Friendly staff, used our name which added to the personal feel, and the food wasn’t sat in a bag waiting when we arrived - they asked the kitchen to prepare it in a bag from the hot plates which meant it was still very hot when we got home. We had onion bhajis, pilau rice, saag aloo, peshwari naan, lamb passanda, and lamb rogan Josh. All the food was excellent with delicious meat and vegetables in the curries. The naan was packed with flavour. Nothing was greasy or over-salted. Some of the best Bangladeshi/South Asian food we’ve had in a long time, and nice to support a local business - particularly right now. Highly recommended and we will be going back for dine-in once restaurants open.
