We recently held our wedding reception here and absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and staff were friendly! Lauren was brilliant with the run up to the day answering every question i had and helping with ideas when setting the room up! Even Reggie was the star of the show and perfect host! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a venue or a place to enjoy good food and atmosphere! Thankyou!
Had a lovely meal proper top quality pub grub a little pricey but u pay for what u get also waitresses where lovely can't fault it recommend it to anyone
We often go out to the Ley Arms for an Evening Meal and I’m a paraplegic confined to my wheelchair but we always get a really friendly welcome from the staff and Locals and all the years we’ve been going there and there has been a change of management we have never had a bad meal. Our meals no matter what our choices have been have always been really good. We can’t wait to go back for our first time in 2018. Xxx Tracie and Lloyd King xxxx
Great place, lovely staff, great food. Guy & Karen the Landlord/Landlady are very welcoming along with Reg the dog.
Last but not least the beer is the best around. My favourite pub!
Rural Heavytree pub that serves really nice food. Menu better than normal pub grub, local produce, nicely presented served by helpful staff. Will return.
Nice old world charm with a modern twist, really enjoyed our food, and good ale, situated in a beautiful village well worth a visit.
The Ley Arms is our family local and has been for the past 25 years whenever I am in Devon. It is the centre of the village and always used to be busy.....remember the cozy old village bar - the New Years Day Auction.......happy memories.
The pub/restaurant has gone through many changes and many landlords and ladies over the years and has suffered the misfortunes of the credit crunch, the decline in simply "going down the pub", pricing, inconsistent food quality and several curious management decisions by the brewery, resulting in the pub losing its way in many peoples eyes.
Success is now very much the byword for the Ley Arms; there has been a complete turn around since the present Landlord and Lady have worked miracles, bringing "The Ley" back into the hub of things again in Kenn Village. The whole enterprise has had a facelift and the result is, that once more the Ley Arms is thriving. The food is excellent, the beer well kept, the service is first rate, the pricing more realistic and the welcoming way in which you are greeted, is as warm as the open log fire in the bustling, friendly atmosphere in the bar.
Well done to Guy and Karen for all they have done.
Haven’t been to the Ley Arms for about 30 years! Went last night and had a lovely evening! Food was great, staff really friendly and Reg was a hit with the grandchildren! Definitely won’t leave it another 30 years.....will be going back very soon!
Stayed in our motor home in the car park as part of the Britstop initiative. Gorgeous pub, unpretentious, authentic and the welcome for us ( and especially our puppy) was warm and genuine. The Sunday Roast was the best we’ve had in ages and the pudding was equally yummy. What’s not to like; a real gem.

Really beautiful pub, with extra on street parking if the car park is full. The pub is lovely and cosy, and I found it easy to access and get around in my wheelchair. There are steps inside the pub and different levels but there are plenty of tables that are accessible via a side entrance, with a wooden hand made ramp. The food was very tasty, and the staff were all super friendly especially the lovely two pub dogs!
Had the loveliest time here with husband this afternoon, the staff were attentive, the roast was so tasty and a generous portion, the gluten free options were great as we have an allergy we were so pleased. Amazing wine list too! The atmosphere is warm and homely and our dog slept peacefully and happily in the lovely ambience that has been created. Will definitely visit again soon ☺️
I have to say this lovely 12 century pub, has to be the cleanest pub I've been into for a while.
The staff were all really helpful . The veggie nut roast was the best I've had in Devon, not just a mush but more like your traditional nut roast. We were a group of 8 all meals came out at the same time piping hot. Fabulous, thank you.
We ate and stayed at the Cramwell Cottage - had an incredible stay even though it was on a particularly rainy weekend. The decoration and set up of pub and cottage meant it was always exciting to look around, and the food was authentic - best batter on fish I have ever had.
When staying in Cramwell, we got a 10% discount on food.
Reliably good food. The menu offers a range from pub grub to more fine-dining type of meals. All done very well. Service is pretty good, but obviously slows down a bit when it is very busy, which is to be expected. The major downside is that they have built an extension that has cut down what was a decent car park to one that is now inadequate. You will now have to drive around and park in the hedge nearby to the pub. I understand why the pub did this, but I am sure the village is not pleased. Despite the issues parking, it is certainly still worth the effort.
Very charming place. Limited menu due to low season, but food was amazing regardless. We had steak and ale stew with rustic bread and some cheese (what was HUGE portion, I have no picture about it, but believe me, we fell into food coma after that). Staff is friendly and chatty. We will be back soon!
What an amazing place! A gorgeous family run country pub that has been so beautifully decorated.
Fantastic food, a lovely landscaped garden, and a free motorhome stopover when eating.
We will definitely be back!
Had a lovely dinner. Great atmosphere, love that it was an old pub.
First visit for a Sunday lunch, very nice it was too. Liked the idea of a smaller portion size which suited my wife. Well kept local ales available. Cosy atmosphere with log fires . Oh and tempting puds.
We stayed here as a Motorhome stopover and my word what a lovely pub!
This beautiful thatched roof is full of character and provides a wonderful setting for the quality food and ales which are served. The delightful atmosphere and ambiance are completed with a strong presence of locals and friendly, efficient staff.
Thoroughly recommended
Lovely pub. Went for Sunday Roast which was well cooked, portions are very reasonable. Such a pretty place inside and staff were great.
Overall very good. Quality wasn't sacrificed even though we had a large group. Service was maybe sometimes slightly slow, but not massively. Keep up the great work all.
Wonderful little find!
We sat in the outside area to the rear of the pub, sipping Pims in the sunshine & having a lovely lunch. Food was fab & staff really friendly.
Although we didn't eat inside, the decor inside was so lovely. I've marked this pub on my map to definitely come back again! The kind of pub that would be lovely in summer or winter.
Great place, best even steak we ate in UK after 2 months in pubs every night.
Superb!
Great food. Sunday lunch was lovely although the service was a little slow it was a good experience, fair play to the waitresses tho it was busy. Would recommend.
