Went last night with a colleague and have to say it more than lived up to expectations. The staff are very polite, and knowledgeable about the food and wine they were serving. I have the Crispy Duck Egg which was just unreal...I didn't want it to end...but then came the Beef Cheek which was amply as delicious. I liked the way each member of staff had their own job, not one waitress trying to cover all jobs and 10 tables - very relaxed. The Bread they serve at the start is to die for...its almost crumpet like, and served so warm the butter just melted into it. I guessed it was home made there, as I have never tasted any bread so good before. If I had one issue it would be the state of the toilets. For such a fab place it was shame that the state of these were not on par, and you could have been in any pub up and down the country as there were towels on the floor, water splashes over everything, it just let the whole thing down a touch. That aside we will sure be back - it's a gem!
Was at the cross on Saturday starter and middle course were out of this world the ribeye steak was lovely but i wish i had gone for the beef cheeks and the hazelnut praline souffle was to die for all the staff were really friendly and mad us fell very welcome and it was nice to habe a chat with chef again hope to be back again soon
Every once in a while it's nice to treat yourself . Each time we have dined at The Cross we have come away totally satisfied . The food is not only lovely to eat but it's presentation is fantastic and so are the very attentive staff. Michelin don't give away there stars easily and to have such a highly reputed restaurant in Kenilworth is brilliant. I totally recommend that you consider enjoying the experience as I'm sure you to will come away totally satisfied .
Ohhh and try the desert ' Floating Island'
Well done to all at The Cross.
Arrived at 14.28 after finding ourselves in Kenilworth and booking 15 minutes prior. What a perfect impromptu afternoon. The food was outstanding, the wines perfect with every course (we had the tasting menu) and the staff delightful. Simply loved every minute and every mouthful. I would highly recommend a visit.
Been here a few times now and it just keeps on getting better! Always impressed with the friendly service and the amazing food. The wine recommendations by Nick are always superb, especially loved the Chinese dessert wine paired with the soufflé
We have dined at The Cross at Kenilworth three times now and it has never failed to be anything other than truly wonderful. The food is excellent and the service is great. Without a doubt well worth a visit !!!
Fabulous meal and excellent service thoroughly enjoyed my birthday meal would highly recommend
It had been over 20 years since i’d been here. It used to be a pub that did grub. Now it’s not even a gastro pub; it’s in a higher league than than. Highly recommended.

My husband, and I went for a meal with about 20 of his colleagues. The cocktails were excellent. The food was exceptional, and the staff was friendly. Each course was fantastic, and complimented each other very nicely. It was a lovely experience.
We had the taster menu with wine for our anniversary celebration. Wow! Food was superbly presented and tasted Devine. Sommelier gave us time and attention made sure we we’re satisfied with everything. Satisfied seems such an understated word! 5 stars. I would recommend absolutely and look forward to returning
Had the amazing taster menu yesterday evening, love trying things I would t normally order in a restaurant. It was all amazing will highly recommend to anyone who asks
Fantastic restaurant with excellent flexibility. Car parking at the rear. Friendly welcome, good selection of wines and beers. Really tasty food well cooked and presented. Service very good.
Probably the best pub restaurant (gastro pub) in the Midlands.
From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. Although a busy night being NYE, we never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the amazing food. The menu was vey enticing and it was difficult to make decisions given the great selection. The onion broth as my entree was rich and flavoursome For mains, I devoured the duck with cider jus. The duck was perfectly pink and just so delicious. I really enjoyed being in the back part of the restaurant near the open kitchen Seeing the chefs create the dishes in military precision added to the ambiance of a great night out.
Crispy duck egg with white asparagus, potato & garlic mousse, parsley & truffle poultry jus – white asparagus is one of my favourite ingredients. If it’s on the menu it’s almost guaranteed that I’ll order it. This dish did it wonderful justice; just what you’d expect from Michelin starred cooking… sound techniques, prime ingredients and clarity of flavour, especially from that truffled chicken jus. Delightful stuff.
Great Michelin star restaurant in the Midlands.
Amazing fresh ingredients cooked perfectly. Staff is very professional and kind.
Booking is necessary at least a week/10 days in advance.
The hazelnut soufflé is one of the best dessert we ever had.
There are no words to describe the dining experience at the Cross. It is pricey but you get what you paid for. The flavours, the presentatio, the service are all 5 star!!!
Would definitely recommend if you ever visit Kenilworth.
In one word. Incredible.
Went here for our anniversary and were blown away by every dish on the tasting menu, even the ones we were dubious about on paper. There wasn't a single course where we did not clear our plates. The wine flight was great and the food perfect. Perfectly flavoured, perfectly portioned, perfectly decadent. Probably one of our very best celebratory dining experiences. We want to go back to try their different seasonal menus. I am uploading pictures with my terrible descriptions of each dish that don't do the food justice at all. From start to finish, an experience we won't likely forget soon.
Update: Still as good as ever. I especially loved the Hazelnut souffle and the amazing seafood course (I had to have the Plaice replaced with Hake because I'm allergic, they were really gracious about it). There wasn't a single dish I did not enjoy. We will be going back, I'm sure. I will say, though, I love Salt in Stratford-upon-Avon as much, maybe just a tad bit more, because they feel a bit more adventurous. Ah, you can't go wrong either.
The lunch menu was outstanding in every way at what I'd consider really a quite incredible price-quality ratio. If you're in the West Midlands, this place is worth a detour.
Absolutely amazing, great atmosphere fantastic food and wines, what more can be said. Already planning our return visit with family as this has to be shared.
Absolutely delicious food in a sumptuous but relaxed setting. The wait staff were so friendly and accommodating, even with our one year old little terror (who thoroughly enjoyed his meal, and sampling ours)
Lunch The Cross
Fine dining in a gastropub ⭐️
After driving in cold snowing conditions, we arrived to a lovely smiling greeting from Pavel, the general manager.
We were seated next to a very cosy roaring fire, which soon warmed us up.

Incredible food, as you'd expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Service was perfect, always there a moment before you need a top up of your glass, or when you wonder when the next course will arrive. Epic food though. The soufflé! The egg! Great atmosphere.
But... if it's hot, you'll probably need to ask for the Aircon to be switched on, even if the windows and doors are open. It can get a little toasty.
We love eating lunch here. We went to celebrate our anniversary and we enjoyed the lunch menu. It's an incredible quality for its price. We specially loved the soup and the fish, they were superb.
Superb experience from start to finish. Precise cooking and faultless service from Pawel and the team. Special shout out to the crab soup and I must also note the wine list has something for everyone. Many thanks and we'll see you soon!
