Went last night with a colleague and have to say it more than lived up to expectations. The staff are very polite, and knowledgeable about the food and wine they were serving. I have the Crispy Duck Egg which was just unreal...I didn't want it to end...but then came the Beef Cheek which was amply as delicious. I liked the way each member of staff had their own job, not one waitress trying to cover all jobs and 10 tables - very relaxed. The Bread they serve at the start is to die for...its almost crumpet like, and served so warm the butter just melted into it. I guessed it was home made there, as I have never tasted any bread so good before. If I had one issue it would be the state of the toilets. For such a fab place it was shame that the state of these were not on par, and you could have been in any pub up and down the country as there were towels on the floor, water splashes over everything, it just let the whole thing down a touch. That aside we will sure be back - it's a gem!
Was at the cross on Saturday starter and middle course were out of this world the ribeye steak was lovely but i wish i had gone for the beef cheeks and the hazelnut praline souffle was to die for all the staff were really friendly and mad us fell very welcome and it was nice to habe a chat with chef again hope to be back again soon
Every once in a while it's nice to treat yourself . Each time we have dined at The Cross we have come away totally satisfied . The food is not only lovely to eat but it's presentation is fantastic and so are the very attentive staff. Michelin don't give away there stars easily and to have such a highly reputed restaurant in Kenilworth is brilliant. I totally recommend that you consider enjoying the experience as I'm sure you to will come away totally satisfied .
Ohhh and try the desert ' Floating Island'
Well done to all at The Cross.
